Millions of people enjoy playing our games each and every week, with even more doing so online via web or app since the outbreak of Covid19. With this in mind, our games need to be easily accessible to players of all ages and backgrounds. That's where you come in!


We need someone like you with fantastic skills across HTML5, CSS3 and Javascript coding, ideally in a high transaction eCommerce environment. Your focus will not only be on beautiful code, but also on ensuring the highest possible levels of accessibility for players on a variety of devices. You will work closely with colleagues across the Digital channel and the wider business to make sure that our players enjoy an experience on our app or site that is enjoyable, easy to use and that they want to come back and use again.

How you'll make a difference

You will be responsible for the delivery of complex solutions across the Camelot digital landscape. This includes project work for The National Lottery website, mobile App and bespoke applications internally. You will focus on development and deliver highly technical solutions across a broad range of products and services within the business. Your core focus will be on javascript development and you will be required to lead areas of this capability within the team. These capabilities may include areas of BAU or project work, web personalisation, onsite promotions, AB /MVT testing or the development of automated testing solutions.

What you'll bring to the table

  • Deliver class leading front-end code across web and app channels.
  • Develop technical solutions using JavaScript and associated JS frameworks.
  • Work with 3rd party APIs to deliver enhanced functionality and website capability.
  • Work with development teams to ensure solutions are technically feasible.
  • Work with strict coding guidelines to ensure standards are maintained.
  • Lead the use of TDD/BDD practices where appropriate and contribute to overall software development and test strategies for the team.
  • Ensure that all code is robust and has undertaken the correct level of QA and testing.
  • Work with internal test teams to ensure that our solutions are fully tested.


  • Experience developing enterprise scale websites and mobile specific web channels.
  • Experience developing for native mobile app or hybrid app products.
  • Experience of automated integration systems and non-functional testing.
  • Experience developing and deploying enterprise level optimisation solutions.


  • Advanced level HTML5, CSS3 and preprocessing SCSS / SASS.
  • Advanced level of JavaScript coding and and related frameworks (eg. JQuery)
  • Advanced level of Object Oriented development and code Design Patterns.
  • Knowledge of prototypical inheritance, scope, and closures.
  • Advanced level of data manipulation with XML / JSON.
  • Expert knowledge and experience using AJAX
  • Expert knowledge and experience using and integrating 3rd party APIs
  • Expert knowledge of REST APIs and integration.
  • Strong knowledge of Accessibility standards and how to develop for them.
