Job Description
InfoSum is changing the world of data. We’re helping advertisers, publishers, agencies and the rest of the advertising ecosystem better understand and target audiences in a way that both respects the privacy of the consumer and provides our customers with full control over their data. We’re solving fundamental issues of consumer trust and transparency that have held back the industry. We are confident our platform will serve as the core infrastructure of the advertising ecosystem for years to come and we’re looking for people to help us achieve that.
In August 2020, we raised a Series A round of funding from both venture and strategic industry leaders, including Upfront Ventures, IA Ventures, Akamai, Experian, Ascential, ITV and ATamp;T and are rapidly growing our customer base of blue-chip companies.
We are looking to recruit a backend developer and are looking to grow our team substantially over the coming 12 months. We currently have a development team of 24 people, of whom 9 are backend software engineers - with several more people already joining in January 2021.
The team is highly focused on rapid delivery of functionality to meet the demands of the business and is comprised of several small cross functional project teams who own the code from design through to production. Evolving processes aim to get a balance between agility and quality that is in line with our market position.
We hire for aptitude not knowledge, although we would like to see experience of solving large and complex problems in an application development domain. We are not looking for a list of specific programming languages on your CV but experience of more than one language would be an advantage. As would specific experience in the languages/technologies listed below.
We are looking for people with a focus on delivering solutions to our customers, a genuine passion for problem solving, coding, and who enjoy being challenged. An interest in Data Science would be an advantage but is not essential. You will be comfortable with prioritising your own work and communicating clearly with the team.
Requirements
You will joining a highly talented and motivated team delivering software services and products built on patented database technology.
You will have at least 18 months of professional software development experience.
The backend tech stack currently comprises a micro-service architecture built using

- Full CI and fully automated deployments using Kubernetes and Ansible to multiple cloud providers
We are committed to using the best technology for the task at hand. Other technologies used within the wider team include TypeScript, NodeJS, React. The DevOps approach is important with the development team expected to be able to monitor and debug their code in production.

However, like most tech businesses, we are fully remote and intend to remain that way until social distancing measures are over in the UK. When we return to the office, we will take the best bits of remote working but also foster face to face collaboration, with the intention that all employees will be in the office at least twice per week. Of course, if you prefer to be office based, you will be able to work there full time.
Whilst InfoSum HQ is Basingstoke, we also have a London office for sales and product operations colleagues as well as a growing presence in New York, reflecting the momentum we are gathering in the US.
