An outstanding publishing and educational company is designing experiential digital short courses for people starting their careers to prepare them for everyday work situations. Our courses will help them to develop specific capabilities through contextual practice and interactions with industry mentors.
We are seeking mentors in charge of online one to one mentoring in the chosen specialist area(s) for learners who are just starting out in their career. This will be a ‘light touch’ and structured way to develop and grow your leadership skills to aid your career progression, your team productivity and to help the next generation properly prepare for the workplace.
The Managers based one experiencewill mentor some or most of the following courses;
Provide guidance, encouragement and knowledge to help mentees make the most of the task they are preparing and delivering within the course.
Review and provide written feedback on a practice task included in the course content given to the learner. Feedback to be completed using a standard competency framework.
Review learner’s plan to achieve their final ‘live’ task and provide feedback and support via a video call.
Review learner’s completed ‘live’ task submission and provide ‘post task’ feedback via video call and final written comments, again using a standard competency framework.
Time commitment approximately 4 hours per learner within 4-6 weeks
Requirements
3 - 10 years of experience in sales, marketing, business development and/or strategic management experience in an organized trade environment.
Experience in leading, implementing and delivering business plans
Skilled in change management and risk management
Commercial awareness, ethical reasoning, adaptivity and goal orientation skills
Understanding of ideation techniques and implementation
Willingness to share skills, knowledge and expertise
Ability to motivate, enthusiasm
Openness to opinions of others and seeing things from a different perspective
Ability to provide constructive feedback and guidance. Supporting the learners with course related questions
Exceptional oral, written, and interpersonal communication skills and being able to adjust the communication to the personality style of the mentee
Technologically proficient, ability to use the online meeting tools and learning systems effectively.
Ideally educated to degree level or equivalent
