The Opportunity

Here’s what you will do

DMW work with our clients to advise and implement optimal sourcing and procurement strategies to solve their most complex problems. Working as part of a multi-disciplinary team, you will shape and execute sourcing approaches to allow our clients to select the most appropriate partners in the technology space.

Hours

This is a permanent role within our Delivery Function. We consider flexible ways of working that allow the best outcomes for our people and clients. Working closely with our clients is key to successful outcomes, and so travel is a requirement (typically lt;50% over the year but varies at the client’s request).

Requirements


  • Provide options and make recommendations on strategies and approaches to achieve best possible sourcing outcomes
  • Work with clients to develop and run RFI/RFP processes, engaging with client SMEs, legal and compliance teams and other senior stakeholders to ensure their requirements are captured and considered as part of sourcing activity.
  • Help clients identify potential suppliers and vendors with a good fit to client needs
  • Develop, agree and execute evaluation strategies with senior stakeholders and procurement teams (i.e. C-Suite)
  • Conduct supplier negotiations
  • Run performance evaluation/supplier improvement initiatives post contract award
  • Contribute to the development of DMW’s procurement collateral and capability
  • Support client proposals and pitches with procurement subject matter expertise
  • Experience of running multiple sourcing exercises, either in-house/end user or on a consulting basis across one or more of:
  • Understanding of outcome measurement as part of a contract (SLAs, KPIs)
  • Experience across multiple phases of the sourcing lifecycle (market research, RFI, RFP, vendor evaluation, contract negotiation and finalisation, vendor management). Ability to facilitate creation of robust requirements catalogues to underpin vendor evaluation is key
  • Persuasive communication skills (written and oral)
  • Strong commercial skills and experience
  • IT product vendors and suppliers market knowledge
  • Ability to work effectively in a wider client and DMW team

  • Infrastructure (Cloud, Data centres, networks) including an understanding of non-functional requirements and IT security
  • Outsourcing/offshoring

Desirable skills

A broad range of IT experience allows you to understand the context of the client’s challenges. Ideally you will have some experience of IT delivery (as opposed to pure sourcing/procurement) across one or more of our core areas:

  • End User Computing (Service Desk, Collaboration technologies)
  • ITIL based service delivery
  • Application Delivery (SaaS, bespoke build, ERP)
  • Infrastructure (Cloud, Data centres, networks) including an understanding of non-functional requirements and IT security
  • Outsourcing/offshoring

Ideally, you will also have some exposure to one or more of the following:

  • Target Operating Model design
  • Solution requirements definition
  • Business Case development (including Public Sector ‘Green Book’)
  • Public sector procurement (OJEU)
  • Software licence management optimisation
  • Vendor management post contract signature and/or vendor benchmarking
  • Service Integration and Management (SIAM) for multi-vendor sourcing / mgmt. environments
  • Building and developing sourcing and procurement skills and capability within an organisation
