Job Description

Here’s what you will do

The Technical Business Analyst is best placed to ensure alignment with the organisation's data and technical KPIs enabling the organisation to achieve its strategic business vision. Data has become the key driver for business strategic decisions and delivering insight. The technical business analyst will support our client's technical transformation journey by bridging the gap between the technical landscape and the business environment.

Location

This role will be remote based with travel to client sites when required. We have three base locations: London, Leeds and Manchester with all centrally located offices.

Hours

Our hours are typically 9am 5.30pm although this can vary occasionally depending on the client project you’re working on. We also offer four days a work prorated for those interested in a shorter working week.

Responsibilities

  • Analyses and validates the business needs to understand the current structure and identify areas of opportunity that helps the organisation achieve its goals
  • Responsible for managing stakeholder relationships and supporting governance activities such as attending key governance forums and meetings
  • Leading a series of workshops and interviews with stakeholders to identify relevant data to be used within programmes and projects. This also includes identifying areas where data cleansing is required to improve data quality
  • Using guidance and best practices provided by cloud and big data amp; analytics frameworks, map out a comprehensive current state data assessment and target cloud adoption journey whose benefit can be easily understood by technical and non-technical stakeholders
  • Working closely with delivery and engineering teams through the technical analysis of data workflows, service and platform analysis, new reporting and intelligence assets and a knowledge retention strategy
  • Supports the build and maintenance of key services and promote offerings, as well as best market practices to help business teams, analysts and data scientists accelerate innovation

Requirements

  • You should be a highly analytical problem solver that is able to see the bigger picture when gathering requirements, analysing processes and workflows and designing system solutions.
  • Able to manage conflicting ideas and provide clarity and focus through excellent written and verbal communication, to technical and business stakeholders alike.
  • Experienced in building a trusting relationship with business users and commercial partners at all levels. Should also be able to manage the relationship and work dependencies between global teams.
  • Be self-motivated, able to work with little supervision and demonstrate willingness to learn new technology concepts and practices.
  • Expe contribute to technical work, such as performing unit and integration tests, as well as developing own testing scenarios.
  • Be familiar with cloud and big data amp; analytics knowledge concepts such as enterprise MI, distributed data processing, streaming, modern data warehousing and DataOps. Understand differences, delivery capabilities and best practices.
  • Be able to work iteratively in a highly connected environment using agile principles such as sprint planning, daily scrums, and retrospectives.

Desirable skills

  • Business Analysis certifications (e.g., ISEB Diploma, BCS Foundation)
  • Qualified SAFe Agilist, Scrum Master, etc.
  • Visualisation and reporting tools such as Power BI, Tableau, QlikView amp; Dataiku, Alteryx
  • CDMP (Data Management) certified
  • Cloud architecture in AWS, Azure amp; GCP
  • Data analysis such as SQL, Python
  • Agile toolsets such as SharePoint, Confluence, DevOps JIRA
  • Service management (e.g., ServiceNow)
