We have extensive industry experience in Off-shore Energy, Renewable Energy, Energy Storage, Hydrogen, Transmission and Distribution and Carbon Sequestration. Frazer-Nash successfully helps clients manage existing assets and perform innovative Research amp; Development. Frazer-Nash is committed to supporting the ambitious goals of the UK’s 2050 Carbon Neutral Strategy.
A key facet of this is the work we do is in rotating machinery. This includes gas and steam turbines and turbomachinery. The Business Manager would lead this business stream and also be custodian of our Rotating Machinery Centre; and be the co-ordinator for all ‘rotating’ enquiries that we receive, that could be from a wind turbine to a small electric motor.
The Role:
Key elements of the role are as follows:
- Contribute to the strategy of the overall Frazer-Nash energy business and develop the strategic plan for the sector;
- Be responsible and accountable for developing and delivering the in-year sector plan;
- Work collaboratively with other sector Business Managers within the Energy Resources Business Group and the wider Frazer-Nash organisation;
- Most projects involve Design, Structures, Materials and Fluids, often in combination. You will need a working knowledge of these skills.
- Maintain existing, and develop new, strong relationships with customers, collaborators and key delivery partners;
- Characterise the key market drivers and influence the development of our services towards the needs of the market;
- Develop and coordinate campaign plans to deliver quote, order and profitability targets;
- Identify, characterise, influence and capture opportunities for delivery by the business;
- Support internal delivery and maintain excellent customer relations, quality, programmes, and profitability across the portfolio.
Requirements
The successful applicant will need to meet the following requirements of the role:
- This role requires a good understanding of / technical knowledge in thermals, structures, component lifting, test rig design and asset management.
- Ability to understand the clients requirements and turn them into winning proposals.
- Experience of managing key accounts.
- Superb communication skills.
- Ability to quickly grasp technical problems and propose winning solutions.
- Ability to identify and develop new skills and services to bid and win major projects.
- Have a broad mix of strategy, business development and bid leadership skills.
- The ability to travel internationally.
