Job Description

Corin is seeking a Product and Continuous Process Improvement Manager. Corin is a medical device business with innovative robotically assisted platforms for joint replacement surgery. The key purpose of a Product and Continuous Process Improvement Manager is to:

  • Drive and motivate a team of Design and Production engineers who will support and maintain the products and manufacturing processes within the company.
  • Responsible for improvement and application of existing processes, to include design and development of new and lean processes.
  • Deal with product and process related complaints and lead CAPA projects
  • Liaise with Design, Quality and Manufacturing engineers in the UK and overseas, procurement professionals, to assess new manufacturing technologies with particular emphasis on regulatory requirements relating to Design processes and procedures.
  • Maintain compliance of Medical Device Design History and Risk Management Files

You will be leading a team of highly skilled Engineers who are responsible for:

  • Identifying improvements to products currently in manufacturer and making the appropriate alterations to the manufacturing specifications, drawings, process FMEAs etc.
  • Updating manufacturing documentation, including product drawings, process sheets amp; inspection sheets and MBOM.
  • Following and producing procedures amp; work instructions.
  • Ensuring compliance of medical device Design History and Risk Management files
  • Assisting in the training of manufacturing personnel.
  • Assisting in process validation including process characterisation, optimisation amp; capability studies as required.
  • Writing and execution of validation protocols (Installation Qualification, Operational Qualification, Performance Qualification, Process Validation), including hands-on testing and coordination of validation activities.
  • Working to GMP requirements and following industry best practice.

Requirements

The ideal Product and Continuous Process Improvement Manager will have / be:

  • A Degree or master’s or equivalent in Engineering or Manufacturing (Bio Medical engineering preferred)
  • Understanding of the biomechanical and biosafety implications of product and process changes on the safety and performance of medical devices
  • Proven leader of teams with strong communication skills.
  • Highly compliant in ISO (13485), follows set processes / procedures and holds high values and principals.
  • Can demonstrate an understanding of: Process validation, Manufacturing engineering, Compiling and using design and process FMEA’s
  • PC literacy, including specific knowledge of Microsoft products.
  • Medical devices manufacturing.
  • An understanding of Orthopaedic products Process engineering.
