Job Description

Due to a recent restructure, we are looking for a Team Manager to join our constantly evolving and fast paced organisation.

As a Team Manager within the Operations Backshift Team, you will be the first line leader of a dedicated team of associates, responsible for delivering results and contributing to the overall success of our organisation through customer focused practices.

You will lead from the floor, delivering real time coaching and feedback to achieve business and productivity goals.

You will identify high potential individuals, develop and grow talent within your team.

You will be an ambassador of Covetrus, promoting Our Shared Values.

The Role and Responsibilities: -

Day to Day Management

  • Determine the daily shift requirements around planned volumes incorporating absence and holidays.
  • Facilitating daily start up meetings, holding regular team briefings and communicating directly with upper management.
  • Organise and participate in daily handover meetings.
  • Responsibility for all housekeeping activities, daily process audits and improvements.

Employee Relations

  • Delivering real time coaching and feedback to achieve business and productivity goals.
  • Fully responsible for embedding our organisation’s priority practices with a strong focus on Supportive Leadership.
  • Encourage equal and fair discussion of all views and opinions, holding regular 1-2-1s and facilitating Warehouse Action Groups.
  • Identify ways in which to successfully contribute to creating a working environment that is key to making the team an inspired and motivated one. Fully adept in managing people through Company policies and procedures.

Continuous Improvement

  • Facilitate a CI culture by ensuring all teams are fully trained and knowledgeable in CI tools, techniques and methodologies.
  • Keeping abreast with new and innovative practices or technology that will improve the operation.
  • Actively seek feedback from teams and formulate actions plans to drive change and results, always looking for ways of reducing cost and improving our service.
  • Identify new ways of working, and then act as a change agent to promote, champion, enable, and support the changes to be made in our organisation.

Performance Management

  • Responsible for setting the performance objectives in your area which are aligned to the organisation’s strategic objectives.
  • Effectively delegate and give regular feedback. Regularly communicate the Covetrus, team and individual and performance results.
  • Identify the strengths and skillsets of your people and move individuals accordingly to get the best out of them. Be accountable and hold the team accountable to their performance.

Training and Development

  • Ensure your team receives full induction and ongoing training as required, arranging re-training of associates when any diversion from process occurs.
  • Have a sense of personal responsibility for development and progression.
  • Identify high potentials to develop and grow talent within the business, providing succession plans for key roles including your own.
  • Focus on helping your people learn new skills so that they can deliver the highest performance possible.

Regulatory and Compliance

  • Partnering closely with the Regulatory and Compliance Team to develop and ensure compliance in all Standard Operating Procedures (SOP) and Work Instructions (WI) as well as any rollout of Global Compliance Training.
  • Identifying and reporting non-compliance to the Responsible Person (RP) in order for any necessary changes to be implemented.

Health and Safety

  • Ensure adequate First Aiders and Fire Wardens are appointed and trained within your area.
  • Work in collaboration with the Safety and Security Supervisor to ensure best practice and identify improvements to be put in place.
  • Create a Health and Safety conscious workforce, ensuring any safety incidents that arise are quickly and efficiently recorded and investigations are carried out when required.

Budget Responsibility

  • Be cost conscious and develop an understanding of business finance.
  • Take an active interest in the budget process and responsibility for any delegated budgets. Support Capex requirements?for your area.
