Job in a nutshell
With Node.js now part of our stack in a React driven ecosystem, we want to leverage our expertise on the JavaScript server side. Your role would involve the support of our tooling and development of APIs, as well as mentoring less experienced colleagues on best practices and low-level intricacies of the runtime. Assist with our plans to grow into a more sophisticated platform powered by micro frontends and refined data aggregation using GraphQL and our event driven Kafka architecture.
In terms of the frontend, we have built an internal bespoke Design System powered by React and design tokens that allows us to move at pace, building customer-focused features with accessibility at the forefront of our minds. You will join a friendly and collaborative group of talented individuals that are always willing to share skills and ideas via open discussions, Frontend or Design oriented guilds. All of this contributes to our primary focus which is building great experiences for our customers.
Requirements
Your skills
- JavaScript expertise with a backend focus on Node.js
- Proficient in Full Stack Development
- Commercial experience developing with React and complex state
- Modern JavaScript development tools and libraries such as Webpack
- Working with CI/CD and knowing how your application operates
- Experience with at least a few common frameworks and libraries (express, koa, request, etc.)
- Understanding of Monitoring and Alerting (Metrics, tracing and logging)
You might also have
- Mathematics, Computer Science or related Degree would be ideal but not essential
- Delivery experience on cloud platforms and familiarity with AWS
- Kubernetes experience
- Kafka integration with Nodejs
- Experience running Node.js on high traffic sites (High scale)
- Experience of using Agile methodologies
- Experience with Design systems (UI Development, White-labelling)
- Experience with Hooks, XState, SWR
- Experience with GraphQL and Express.js
- Experience with Docker
- Contributions to open-source projects
- A portfolio of personal projects
- Commercial experience in Finance or another regulated industry
