Job Description

We are seeking a proactive individual who naturally takes responsibility to resolve challenges within a supply chain environment. The successful candidate will be working as part of the Supply team, within a fast pace project environment. They will manage and control the purchase of goods, materials and services for individual projects, coordinating with the Project Managers, Aircraft Maintenance and Manufacturing teams. They will also assist in stores and will be a focal point for deliveries and suppliers, requiring good communication and interpersonal skills.


Requirements

  • Purchase goods, materials, components or services in accordance with specified technical, quality and delivery requirements
  • Support Supply Chain Manager with Supplier Contract negotiations, improved prices and terms of business with suppliers and review opportunities to make business savings utilising negotiation and procurement best practice tools and methods.
  • Prepare purchase orders in line with final negotiations with selected suppliers.
  • Interface with other departments and Suppliers for all matters related to the procurement of Project materials, equipment and sub-contract services.
  • Provide procurement support for new designs, and when necessary, participate in bid reviews and evaluations.
  • support the Stores Controller in day to day running of the store. You will carry out updating of computer records with stock inventories, whilst monitoring consumable stock levels and preventing shortages. You will also be responsible for safety and security of the stock.
  • accept deliveries and carry out Goods in Process, ensuring that all parts received conform to criteria laid out in process.
  • Jointly responsible for the control and recording of Goods outwards, along with shipping of goods.
  • You will be required to dispense of parts for aircraft, undergoing maintenance check, by repair, overhaul or scrapping.
  • You will be required to dispense of parts for commercial and ISO contracts. All tooling and stock movement must be carried out in a timely and accurate manner to support maintenance activities.
  • You will liaise with suppliers to get quotes, order parts and ensure on time delivery. This role involves manual handling and may require use of a Forklift.
  • Deputize for the Stores Controller in their absence.
  • Any other duties as needed or required by the business. Such other relevant duties may be assigned by the Manager in agreement with you. Such agreement should not be unreasonably withheld.
  • Previous experience working in an engineering stores environment, aircraft stores would be an advantage but not essential. Experience in goods in/goods out process and understanding of stock control.
