We are looking for talented and dedicated Payments Operations Manager to provide experienced support for day to day financial operations with a proven ability to work with minimal supervision. You are interested in financial technology and innovation in the payments space and are looking for an opportunity to join a team of smart and passionate people, working on a product that has large scope for disruption rooted in cutting edge technology.

This role is an excellent opportunity to further improve existing knowledge and skills around payments and operational finance within a team with wide ranging responsibilities.


The Role

As our Payments Operations Manager you will be within the Finance Team and primarily responsible for anything to do with the financial operations of the company, i.e. e-money reconciliation, transactions reconciliation, settlement of payments, confirmation of trades and investigation of various breaks, vendor fees reconciliation and ensuring ideal payment flows for the product. This involves having a deep understanding of how the funds flow within the firm coupled with a high attention to detail.


Responsibilities
  • Reconcile customer accounts to ensure accuracy across all balances
  • Perform e-money reconciliation on a daily basis
  • Perform daily account and card transactions reconciliation analysis relying on clearing and settlement reports
  • Identifying, investigating and resolving client account discrepancies
  • Ensure our safeguarding requirements as mandated by the FCA are met at all times
  • Ensure accurate accounting of payments transactions
  • Setup and continuous improvement of reporting and reconciliation processes
  • Work with development team to ensure accurate reporting and distribution of information across the business
  • Ensure most efficient payment flow is in place and perform reconciliation across all suppliers in the payment chain (acquirer, various banking partners, payout partners)
  • Check and reconcile supplier fees (acquirer, gateway, KYC provider, banking partner, payout partner) against actual usage
  • Help evolve and perfect our pricing structure as we add new services
  • Assist the Risk Management and Financial Crime Team with daily tasks
  • Ownership of cashflow and treasury management including FX trades
  • Dealing with payment queries and investigations
  • Weekly and monthly reporting
  • Participation in ongoing projects around development of back office systems
  • Reviewing processes and procedures
  • Liaising with 3rd party providers (eg. banks, payment providers, acquirers)
  • Use strong problem solving skills and a deep understanding of our systems to resolve queries with our customers in mind
  • Finding automated solutions to streamline all of the above processes

Requirements

  • 2-5 years of experience in a financial services or e-money/payments firm (payments company, card issuer, BIN sponsor, acquirer, etc.) as settlements analyst, treasury analyst or similar role
  • You know the card issuing and payments business inside out
  • Technological curiosity
  • In-depth understanding of transactional payment processes, types of payments and currency cut offs
  • Ability to handle multiple tasks with tight deadlines whilst ensuring the work undertaken remains at a high standard
  • Excellent planning and prioritisation skills
  • Process oriented with a strong sense of ownership and accountability
  • You pay attention to details and think about the implications of what you are doing
  • Excellent time management skills with the ability to build strong cross-functional relationships and work collaboratively
  • You have strong numerical and problem solving ability. You enjoy rolling up your sleeves and getting stuck into problems
