Overview of Role:
To help provide independent assurance that the significant risks faced by Castle Trust Bank are identified, understood, and appropriately managed.
Key Responsibilities:
- Undertake individual assignments, including planning, fieldwork and preparing and delivering final reports on a timely basis.
- Liaise with all levels of management (up to and including the CEO) to discuss and agree internal audit issues, recommendations, and management actions.
- Be responsible for following up and confirming that management has implemented actions agreed in response to audit issues.
- Undertake ad-hoc reviews and investigations as required by the Internal Audit Manager.
- Maintain internal audit records and files in line with Internal Audit Manual.
- Maintain awareness of developments in internal audit practice.
- Work closely with Castle Trust Bank’s external auditors and the Compliance function and liaise with the outsource providers assurance functions as required.

Requirements
Person Specification:
Essential:
- Minimum 3-year recent experience of working in internal audit or a related discipline at senior level (e.g., Top ten accountancy/audit firm).
- Experience of working in a regulated financial services firm.
- Experience in any of the following: mortgages, savings, retail consumer finance, credit risk management, and IT management.
- In depth knowledge of audit methodologies including data analytics capability
- Self- motivated and proactive in approach, able to act independently and on own initiative.
- Good analytical, influencing, presentation and relationship building skills.
- Good working knowledge of UK regulation and key areas of regulatory focus from PRA and FCA.
- Specific expert knowledge of prudential risk management and/or
- Specific expert knowledge of cyber risk and technology controls
- Chartered accountant / chartered internal auditor (e.g. ICAEW, ACCA, IIA) - part-qualified or qualified
- Treasury management qualification and / or
- IT audit certification
