Character Prop Rigger (Action Adventure)

We're looking for a Character/Prop Rigger to assist with the delivery of a blockbuster VR action adventure title. This is an exceptionally exciting project, utilising the full immersive capabilities of VR to build a thrilling game experience.

KEY RESPONSBILITIES

• Define and produce animation rigs for characters, creatures and props.
• Own the skinning process for a variety of rigged assets.
• Comfortable with all forms of character and prop deformation including bones, blend shapes and displacement maps.
• Critique assets on an ongoing basis to drive continual improvement and ensure quality across the game within defined budgets.
• Foresee potential issues and communicate effectively to department leads and Development Managers.
• Help develop and define enhancements of in-house tools for the team and as per project requirements.

Requirements

• Experience in a Character, Creature, Prop Rigging role, ideally in the games industry.
• Knowledge of rigging pipelines and able to give solutions to complex deformation models.
• Understanding of art authoring packages and transitioning data to game engines.
• Excellent understanding of Maya
• Minimum of 2 years in a similar role.
• Good problem-solving skills.
• Friendly and approachable personality.
• Energetic and positive attitude
• Outstanding communication skills both written and verbal.

ADDITIONAL OR DESIRED SKILLS

• UE4 knowledge is an advantage.
• Console development experience would be advantageous.
• Experience with Maya and scripting languages: Python, Python QT, Maya API.
• Familiarity with Motion Builder.
