We deliver support across a variety of Business Units; however, this role has a particular emphasis on the Manufacturing and Process Industry in and around the North East of England.

As part of our Supportability Engineering consultancy business, you will be supporting technical work programmes across multiple market sectors, but focussing on the process and manufacturing industrial sectors. You will be part of a team adapting and developing methodologies to suit new and existing business areas, whilst building and maintaining relationships between our customer and us. You will be required to develop and apply through life RAMS and Asset Management strategies to complex engineering problems and recommend engineering solutions to our customers.

The right candidate will also have the ambition and drive to support and promote our growth ambitions to provide quality technical engineering consultancy within the process and manufacturing industry sectors.

The successful candidate/s will have recent practical experience working within process or manufacturing industries. This experience will have a focus on Maintenance and Reliability improvement at COMAH Upper Tier sites aimed at improvements to Overall Equipment Effectiveness (OEE).

Preferably, you will have held a recent position within a consultancy or engineering business environment working as an Ramp;M engineer / consultant, or held a maintenance and reliability improvement related post within a large industrial processing or manufacturing organisation.

You will have a working knowledge of the applicable statutory and industry specific standards for maintenance and reliability; in their current industry and have practical experience of applying relevant analysis tools and techniques to analyse engineering systems.

Requirements

The successful applicant will meet the following minimum requirements:

  • Degree qualified Engineer in a relevant technical discipline;
  • Industry experience of either COMAH sites, chemicals, petrochemicals or highly regulated environment;
  • Recent demonstrable ability in delivering RAMS, Asset Management, and/or Ramp;M activity during the lifecycle of equipment and/or industrial process programmes;
  • A good understanding and track record of undertaking formal RAMS and maintenance analyses as applied to complex industrial processes and programmes;
  • Experience of implementing maintenance strategies using techniques such as Criticality
  • Assessment, Condition Based Maintenance, Reliability Centred Maintenance, Preventive
  • Maintenance Optimisation and OEE improvement;
  • Experience of using analysis tools and techniques including: FMEA/FMECA, Fault Tree
  • Analysis, Ramp;M modelling, Root Cause Analysis and Maintenance Analysis;
  • Experience of developing RAMS documentation such as Management Plans, Maintenance, Strategies, and Technical Reports;
  • Experience of relationship development and direct liaison and with a diverse range of clients.


It is to your advantage if you meet any or all the following additional requirements:

  • Chartered Status
  • An understanding of Asset Management;
  • Experience of applying Reliability Centred Maintenance (RCM);
  • Experience of whole life cost modelling;
  • An understanding of RAMS application in other market sectors such as the Defence, Power Generation / Distribution, Nuclear, Rail etc.
