With 8 million homes and businesses to connect in our sights, and a 4bn investment programme to make it happen, we have a busy and exciting journey ahead.

WHAT’S IN IT FOR YOU

We expect a lot from our team, but we also want everyone to feel supported and empowered in helping us deliver our mission. That's why we make sure to provide opportunities for you to learn, develop your career, use your talents, and fulfil your potential.

With a salary of 45,000 - 55,000 depending on experience, you’ll also get benefits like 25 days holiday, a day off on your birthday, a day off to support a charity or organisation of your choice, performance-related bonus scheme, and private healthcare.

We want everyone to know and feel that CityFibre is a place where we can be ourselves, with all the things that make us similar and different. We are proud to be an equal opportunity employer; we celebrate diversity and are committed to creating an inclusive environment for all.

WHAT WILL YOU BE DOING?

As Lead QA Engineer, you’ll help us to build a QA practise which drives the quality of in-house developed applications along with commercial package configurations. You’ll apply your technical knowledge and experience to produce clear, consistent and functional test suites and scripts ensuring quality is validated for every change to code.

Some additional responsibilities include:

  • Participating in and contributing towards technical documentation, peer reviews, design reviews, team review meetings, and feature refinement sessions
  • Reporting test status’ to management, escalating issues as required
  • Analysing and understanding new and existing software components and requirements

WHAT WILL YOU BRING?

It’s important that you are proficient in all stages of the test life cycle, from test planning to defect tracking and managing the defect life cycle. You’ll have solid experience in implementing automated test suites and testing applications (such as Selenium and Cypress), as well as a good understanding of the full software development life cycle, especially testing elements within the cycle. You’ll also need;

  • Hands on experience with automation testing
  • Extensive experience using Linux / Unix
  • Experience testing APIs
  • MySQL or PostgreSQL (including querying and creating test data)
  • Extensive testing experience for Multi-Tier application architecture, regression, GUI, system, black box, performance and end-to-end testing
  • Excellent working knowledge of source control systems such as Git
  • Use of BDD using Cucumber and Gherkin

Any team leadership or management experience would be a bonus but isn’t essential!
