Novation Head of Product
Type:
Full-time, Permanent
Based: London, High Wycombe, Berlin or remote (UK or Germany only)

We have an exciting opportunity for an experienced product department leader to join the successful Novation team, and manage the Novation product portfolio. You will manage the Product Team, and support them in the definition and delivery of the Product Strategy required to meet the Company’s Vision and growth plans.

Your team will own each product’s lifecycle from concept through to end of life, making sure you have the right products, at the right price, at the right time.

This is a senior position, reporting directly to the Director of Product for the group. You will be engaging at Executive Leadership level to secure agreement on product strategy, roadmaps and priorities.

Purpose of the role:

  • The Head of Product for Novation is responsible for the Pamp;L, the overall strategy, and the resulting roadmap for all Novation branded products. The candidate will ensure the company grows by both expanding our current market share with continued differentiation initiatives, as well as growing into new market adjacencies.

Key responsibilities:

  • Contribute to the Novation product roadmap, from product vision and idea creation, throughout the product lifecycle, ensuring profitability, as well as consistency with company strategy
  • Analyse market size, channel sales, and customer data to derive best product plans and product strategies
  • Researching and understanding relevant customer personas, their use cases, and workflows, to help deliver winning products that solve their problems in a unique and compelling way
  • Propose, at regular intervals, product opportunities along with business cases and competitive strategies
  • Deliver multi-product roadmaps that achieve the company’s revenue and profit objectives
  • Create relevant and targeted customer value propositions, and communicate competitive positioning across the organization, to drive best-in-class execution for your products
  • Develop and maintain feature requirements for products (hardware and software), while making efficient trade-offs of features against profitability and time to market priorities
  • Assist in crafting customer-facing product copy, messaging and image assets
  • Work cross functionally to develop connected product strategies that support multiple customer personas and deliver highest value
  • Understand core technology across engineering to help prioritize efficient use of engineering bandwidth
  • Take a key role in any Mamp;A activities associated with Novation product strategies
  • Continuously review product performance and marketing outcomes to ensure consistency with the strategy and business outcomes.

Qualifications and Experience

  • A strong understanding of the Product Management function
  • A strong understanding and passion for the music-making industry, the creative customer and the technology behind Novation products
  • A minimum of 5 years’ experience in a Product Management, Product Marketing or Technical Marketing role
  • Strong analytical skills, both qualitative and quantitative, with the ability to turn complex data into insight to inform decision making
  • A good understanding of the Pamp;L and the tools available to improve financial performance
  • An ability to influence colleagues across many functions, territories and levels
  • A clear, confident and influential communicator
  • A creative mind with a clear customer focus at all times
  • A passionate and determined problem-solver
  • A self-starter, capable of working independently
  • Able to manage and prioritise multiple work streams simultaneously, with a strong focus on timely delivery of objectives
  • Computer literate, with a knowledge of Mac, PC and iOS operating systems
