Job Description

ABOUT THE ROLE

We are a rapidly growing organisation with a critical mission at an important time. We run industry leading bootcamps with second to none employment outcomes - but what makes this admissions role truly unique, is that the people you admit to the program will not pay a penny for their bootcamps.

As Director of Admissions you’ll help re-define our outreach strategy to build awareness and drive applications for our programs, through to overseeing the subsequent admissions and enrollment processes. Your admissions process, designed in collaboration with our partners and your team will be implemented for our existing programmes, and to support the launch of new programs.

As you learn more about our work you'll also help to craft and deliver our message to the communities we serve through partnerships and direct marketing. You’ll ensure that targets for registrations, applications and offers are achieved and the quality of accepted candidates who enrol exceed our selection criteria.

Our Director of Admissions will have a track record of excellence in previous roles and management experience. You will have demonstrated experience at working effectively with a range of sector-based partners to build awareness and application volumes through these channels. You’ll have an admissions and enrollments toolkit ready to deploy, adapt and improve for our good cause. You’ll sit at the heart of Generation UKamp;I, reporting to the Chief Operating Officer in the Central team with a wonderful team of experienced and supportive programme managers reporting to you .

We are a charity, as such admission is based purely on need and merit. We exist to help people with the aspiration to change their lives for the better. Your role is central to their success and our mission: the better we are at attracting and admitting people from hard to reach areas with non-traditional backgrounds, the more we can accomplish as a charity in the coming months and years. As such you will work towards overall enrollment goals and impact goals making sure we admit as many driven and ambitious people, with maximum opportunity to benefit as possible.

ABOUT GENERATION

Generation is the world’s largest, fastest scaling global employment program, providing young and mid-career adults with the opportunity to launch successful careers and change their life trajectories.

Founded by McKinsey amp; Company, we are a UK registered charity, delivering tailored programmes to recruit, train and place unemployed people into work. Through our unique approach we also solve a wide range of employer challengesskilled talent shortages, poor job performance, lack of diversity, and high turnover. Our mission is to meet these employer challenges head on while training, coaching and supporting people into life-changing careers that would otherwise be inaccessible.

Generation launched globally in 2015, and has grown quickly to become the world’s largest demand-led employment initiative. With operations in 12 countries worldwide we have placed over 39,000 people into roles (many of whom have suffered some form of adversity), using a bootcamp model working with over 2,000 employer partners to date across 26 professions. In 2021 we are running training to employment programs in London, Ireland, Leeds, Manchester and the West Midlands across tech, healthcare and customer service roles.

In 2020, the coronavirus pandemic transformed the employment landscape beyond recognition, with young people (the majority of the people we help) being the hardest hit. At the same time, the Black Lives Matter movement has rightfully brought issues of social injustice and racism to the top of every agenda.

By joining Generation UKamp;I in 2021, you will become part of a young, ambitious organisation determined to play its part in addressing both of these challenges for people in the UK amp; Ireland as we build a fairer future.
