Job Description

As we mature our partnerships and routes to market for our leading autonomy stack, we need to ensure we build a robust, systems led approach. We are bolstering our Safety team to help us do this.

As an agile scale-up with big ideas and constantly advancing technology, there is no such thing as a typical day. Here are a few high level responsibilities to give you an idea of what you'll be doing:

  • Actively working on the development of the functional safety concept and the implementation of the safety goals.
  • Creating and maintaining engineering tools for safety like the item definition, HARA, FMEA and FTA.
  • Defining safety goals, requirements and assisting on their integrations and traceability as part of the development process.
  • Engaging and interacting with developers and engineers from different areas of the business to create awareness and promote functional safety as part of the development process.
  • Providing training on relevant safety and compliance topics to a variety of audiences within the business.
  • Assisting at developing a strategy for concurrent compliance with ISO 26262, SOTIF and Automotive SPICE.
  • Identifying relevant safety standards and regulations and their relevance for the business.
  • Actively participating in the Safety Advisory Board and other relevant safety forums.
  • Maintain the safety case and update it with evidence to show constant improvement and safety compliance for trials.
  • Assisting on preparation for demos, witness tests and public trials from the safety perspective.
  • Liaising with customers and partners from different industries on safety-related topics.


    Requirements

    What you need to succeed:

    • You’ll need to be enthusiastic about safety, energetic and ready to take new challenges.
    • Proven experience on systems engineering and functional safety.
    • Good understanding of safety principles, certification process, verification and validation.
    • Familiar with relevant safety standards, including ISO 26262, D ISO-PAS 21448, and SAE J3016.
    • Familiar with UK legislation, standards and technical specifications for trials for automated vehicles on public roads, including the Code of Practice and PAS 1881.
    • Familiar with quality management systems.
    • Good communication skills on technical subjects.

      Extra kudos for exposure to any of the following:

      • Systems engineering developing ADAS, active safety or AD features.
      • Software development, automotive, aerospace, mining or rail industries
      • Research and development.
      • Automated driving systems (ADS).
      • Testing vehicles, systems or subsystems.
      • Data analysis skills.
