Job Description

The Account Director is a key role within the Behaviour Change team in HU; insights, innovation and change are the three key drivers that the Behaviour Change team is operating by. We utilize evidence-based frameworks and create a bespoke solution for each of challenges that we are called to design and deliver. This is what makes us different and propels our growth.

We are looking for someone with an entrepreneurial nature, strategic mindset, strong collaborative attitude, and a track record of forming excellent client partnerships.

You will work closely with and report into your Director.

Requirements

Core Responsibilities

  • On-going effective direction and management of all accounts under your remit, gaining the respect and trust of the account teams
  • Client liaison and consulting on the strategic direction of accounts under your remit, gaining the respect and trust of the clients
  • Flawless implementation of account activities as well as direction in managing others to do so
  • Ensuring projects have SMART objectives and are thoroughly evaluated
  • Proactive development of existing accounts through identification of opportunities for growth and conversion into new or ongoing work from clients
  • Demonstrate good forward planning and anticipation skills and demand excellence of the account team
  • Demonstrate innovation and creativity beyond client expectations
  • Regular and appropriate updates with the management team
  • In-depth and confident understanding of clients’ strategic goals
  • Provide insights into new therapy areas quickly and confidently

  • Strategic direction and implementation of the account and understanding of behavioural frameworks
  • Manage timings and operationalisation of account deliverables with confidence and accuracy
  • Excellent client handling experience and expertise
  • Effective financial planning and awareness of the implications of profitability
  • Strong presentation skills and experience in developing new business proposals
  • High standards in grammar and understanding of the editorial skills needed for excellence in communication

Financial responsibilities

  • Ensuring accounts under your remit are profitable and over-service is kept to a minimum
  • Financial reporting and forecasting of accounts to Associate Directors/ Directors and Finance as assigned to you
  • Ensuring accurate and timely invoicing, budget tracking and reconciling by the team

New business responsibilities

  • Identification of new business opportunities in target areas
  • Confident development and presentation of new business proposals
  • Delivering on organic growth targets of existing clients
  • Mentor/line-manage multiple team members within the company and help develop their ability and experience through coaching and experience building
  • Involvement in account team development and structure
  • Excellent writing skills and attention to detail
  • Understanding of stakeholder needs (Patient, KOL, HCP, client, etc)

  • 25 days holiday per year, plus bank holidays.
  • After 3 years’ service an extra 1.5 days holiday, plus 0.5 day per additional year completed up to 30 days total.
  • On top of that, there is additional discretionary time off over the Christmas period.
