Job Description

The production of the monthly cost reporting of overheads for the Group, controlling and reconciling specified ledger balances, whilst ensuring correct allocation of costs. Liaising with HR and RSM to ensure the correct payroll data is processed monthly.

RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Monthly payroll review. Identify all Payroll queries, check all pay slips are as per the HR payroll report amp; prepare payroll reports for final sign off.
  • Review amp; post to books all invoices, expenses amp; credit cards as prepared by accounts payable team.
  • Produce the aged creditors reconciliation, review amp; distribute to interested parties.
  • Review amp; post month end journals (prepayments, accruals, lease costs, payroll, fixed assets, cashbook)
  • Review balance sheet reconciliations amp; update balance sheet master control schedule by 10th working day of the following month.
  • Maintain up to date documentation of processes and procedures for all activities that fall under your area of responsibility.
  • Analyze Pamp;L monthly, providing commentary for staff costs, month vs month variances, cost centre breakdown, budget variances and payroll analysis. Identifying and process any relevant adjustments as required.
  • Review and maintain the capitalization of tangibles and intangibles, liaising with IT to ensure correct allocation of internal staff costs and external supplier invoices, whilst identifying dates when costs have finalized and capitalization should take place. Seek continuous improvement to the reporting process, whilst developing reporting that aligns to statutory reporting requirements.
  • Attend and input into the monthly cost review meetings with CFO amp; budget holders, providing cost centre reports and payroll analysis as required.
  • Manage amp; prepare various reporting requirements:
  • Maintain the Coda ledger, including the creation of new accounts and a quarterly ledger review, to include locking any suppliers no longer active.
  • Assist with interim and year-end amp; audit queries
  • Complete mandatory training (Unicorn, Leadership Training)
  • Line manage Assistant Cost Accountant

Requirements

  • AAT (desirable)
  • Ability to manage staff, carry out regular 1:1’s and performance appraisals twice a year.
  • Minimum of 3 years in a similar role
