We’re looking for a software/data engineer with a broad skillset who will excel in a fast-paced, interdisciplinary working environment and be driven to solve the exciting and diverse challenges that arise from engineering life. More specifically you will:
- Develop software and informatics infrastructure to manage and analyse experimental data.
- Collaborate with scientists and engineers to identify and build software that will enable us to surpass our scientific and commercial goals.
- Work on rapidly evolving projects with frequently changing requirements.
- Write and manage documentation and informally train and support end-users.
- Be excited about building on existing skills knowledge whilst constantly learning.
- Have an enquiring mind and a desire to understand and influence Mellizyme’s scientific and commercial goals.
Requirements
What we need:
- 5+ years’ experience in commercial software development.
- Advanced software development skills in Python.
- Advanced data management skills
- Experience building and maintaining a range of database systems, including SQL, graph and document databases.
- Experience in scientific software development, computational biology and bioinformatics or laboratory automation or a desire to adapt your skills to these domains.
- Evidence of delivering quality software to short deadlines whilst adapting to rapidly evolving requirements.
- The ability to thrive in an interdisciplinary team.
What we’d like:
- Experience programming in Java, C++ or other languages.
- Knowledge of data science approaches and expertise with Python packages: numpy, scipy, Pandas, and scikit-learn.
- Experience implementing machine learning using Keras, PyTorch and TensorFlow.
- Experience developing and using RESTful webservices.
- Web development skills using frameworks like Bootstrap, Angular and React.
- DevOps skills and experience in cloud computing.
- Experience of modern software engineering practices (i.e. Agile software development).
