The role

We are seeking?two driven and target-oriented individuals for a full-time permanent position as Editor Outreach Coordinators located in our London office (or remote working in the UK). The Editor Outreach Coordinator is responsible for managing editor recruitment operations and line-manages a team of Editor Outreach Specialists.

Under the guidance of the Editor Outreach Manager and working closely with members across multiple Editorial Teams, the Editor Outreach Coordinator role requires the ability to inspire and motivate, be a trusted advisor for internal and external stakeholders and arrive at solution-oriented approaches to deliver scalable growth. The successful candidate will have excellent interpersonal skills and ideally work experience within academic publishing, which will enable them to effectively engage with high-profile scholars and be an effective team manager and interface with other departments.

The successful candidate will have the unique opportunity to work closely with the Editor Outreach Manager to expand the new Editor Outreach team at Frontiers, an exciting step in the development of the Publishing Development department at Frontiers.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead a team of Editor Outreach Specialists to recruit new editors across the "Frontiers in" title series to an agreed timeline achieving set milestones and both qualitative and quantitative targets.
  • Recruit new editors successfully and on time by inspiring the team to achieve set milestones and targets for Editorial Board expansion.
  • Identify new editors and engage them to contribute to the growth of journals.
  • Responsible for the training of Editor Outreach Specialists and providing continuous development as well as performance feedback and appraisals; primary escalation point for issues encountered.
  • Working with the Editor Outreach Manager to improve tools and processes and increase efficiency of the team.

Requirements

  • Demonstrated experience working in a scientific publishing house, and/or strong equivalent project management experience;
  • Strong leadership skills; people management experience preferable
  • Initiative taking, confident and motivated by their work. Capable of taking on new tasks.
  • Someone enthusiastic coming up with inventive solutions to problems.
  • Target-driven
  • Excellent communication in written and spoken English;
  • Aptitude for digesting large amounts of information, and reacting effectively to urgent situations;
  • Ability to work independently, be highly organized and meet deadlines;
  • Sound and mature judgment; decisive and tactful when working with multiple stakeholders;
  • Technical proficiency, with hands-on skills using current software (particularly Salesforce);
