Lead Technical Animator (Action Adventure)

We're looking for Lead Technical Animator to assist with the delivery of a blockbuster VR action adventure title. This is an exceptionally exciting project, utilising the full immersive capabilities of VR to build a thrilling game experience.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Work closely with the Director of Tools and Technology as well as Animation and Code Lead to develop and refine technical animation workflows and pipelines
• Build, mentor and lead a team of Technical Animators and Riggers
• Develop a positive and energetic team culture
• Ensure that the work of the team follows the quality standards, technical direction and set deadlines
• Work with Dev Managers to ensure a realistic project scope and time estimates.
• Oversee the creation of assets/tools/scripts that provide efficient workflows and great visuals in maya and engine

• Identifying shortfalls in technical animation/rigging skills and driving the recruitment process

Requirements

• Proven experience as a Lead Technical Animator on at least one shipped PC or Console title
• Experience with team leadership, people management, skills development, and mentoring
• Proven experience with workload planning and risk assessment
• Proven experience producing high quality rigged and skinned characters
• Excellent knowledge of animation and the processes involved in creating animations
• Experience with implementing animation and animation logic in Unreal Engine
• Strong problem-solving skills
• Outstanding communication skills both written and verbal
• Experience with Unreal Engine
• Excellent experience working with Python/Maya
  

ADDITIONAL OR DESIRED SKILLS:

• Experience with Motion capture
• Console development experience
