Job Description

A leading UK bank currently requires a SSAS Pension Administrator to join hem on a 12 month contract basis. You will be responsible for undertaking administration on a portfolio of SSAS Pension schemes. In addition to your main responsibility, you will work closely with junior and new members of staff, coaching and training on role specific tasks, including but not restricted to; checking calculations, allocating work, signing off administration and ensuring deadlines are met.

Responsibilities

  • Dealing with technical client issues and attend meetings with existing SSAS clients and their professional advisers.
  • Assisting with SSAS Property purchase and sales and ongoing property management.
  • Processing investments in Private Company Shares
  • Processing Loanbacks
  • Completion of Pension Scheme Returns.
  • Completion of Event Reports as appropriate.
  • Completion of ly returns as appropriate.
  • Liaison with the Pensions Regulator and completion of their annual returns.
  • Liaison with the Information commissioner and completion of their annual returns.
  • Undertake benefit calculations and arrange payment.
  • Process Transfers out and scheme wind up.
  • Arrange payment of death benefits.
  • Settle benefits following a member’s divorce
  • Process Investment transactions
  • Day to day SSAS pension administration
  • Coaching and training junior and new members of staff
  • Allocate work.
  • Reviewing and up-dating procedures with close liaison with various internal teams
  • Appropriate identification and escalation of issues to management e.g. those that have regulatory/reputational/financial risk and where urgent action is required to ensure the administration of the scheme remains within HMRC requirements.
  • To continually consider and execute the FSA’s principle of ‘Treating Customers Fairly’ (TCF).
  • Building and maintaining positive relationships with clients

Requirements

  • An extensive knowledge and experience working in SSAS pension administration obtained through a SSAS/SIPP pension provider
  • Experience of working with SSAS~Pro software is desirable
  • Excellent written and interpersonal communication skills
  • Excellent organisational and self-motivating abilities
  • Ability to work on their own initiative as well as being able to identify when it is necessary to seek advice and support.
