Job Description

Mews is disrupting the hospitality industry with a cloud-based property management solution for hotels, hostels, apartments and more. The Mews Hospitality Cloud acts as a central nervous system for properties of all sizes from small independent hotels to large group brands. Over 1,600 brands across 60 countries run their hotel operations, booking, payments and guest management on Mews.

As the Director of Independent Sales, you will be required to manage and lead the Independent Sales team in all aspects of Independent Sales within the company. In addition, you are responsible for the day to day management of the Independent Sales team. The Director of Independent Sales will report directly to the Director of Independent and Mamp;A Sales and will work in conjunction with the Sales Enablement team and subsequent team leaders within commercial as required.

Your Mission

  • Your mission is clear: To lead the Independent Sales team by example, managing all aspects of the day to day business involving Independent Sales and ultimately setting the team up for success in order to meet and exceed budgeted targets.
  • Enable and support the Independent Sales team to meet and exceed agreed sales targets consistently by ensuring the team have all aspects of support and guidance they require to be successful in their role.
  • Keep up to date on all of Mews products and services
  • Collaborate with commercial and wider teams to understand customer challenges and provide guidance and insight into the customer experience and how it affects Independent Sales.
  • Provide timely and regular reports on the Independent Teams Commercial operations and performance
  • Act as first line support to the Independent Sales Team.

Key Responsibilities
This list is not exhaustive and is a guideline of those ‘typical’ tasks that you will be expected to undertake. However, you will be expected to undertake all commercial tasks which are deemed to be fair and reasonable and fall within the remit of the Director of Independent Sales, irrespective of whether it is listed or not.


  • Manage the entire Independent Sales team process.
  • Set, track and meet sales targets for the Independent Sales team.
  • Define the remit in which Independent Sales Teams can work, and control this process.
  • Suggest and implement improvements in the Independent Sales process.
  • Prepare monthly, quarterly and annual Independent Sales Performance reports and forecasts.
  • Outline and implement a Territory based regionalisation plan for a growing Independent Sales Team
  • Liaise with Marketing and Product Development departments to ensure brand consistency and ensure this is reflected in the Independent Sales output.
  • Follow-up on inbound marketing leads and identify qualified opportunities providing appropriate levels of information at the right time for interested prospects within the Independent Sales Teams' remit.
  • Be responsible for educating and developing the Independent Sales Team.
  • Act as First Line Support for complex deals in which an Independent Sales member is involved.
  • Create target prospects lists and penetrate key territories in line with the Independent Sales Team remit.
  • Identify Target properties, researching and obtaining Pain Points, and presenting solutions to begin sales cycle
  • Ensure that the Independent Sales Team Pipeline is kept maintained by implementing soft KPI’s and expected activity levels for Independent Sales Teams.
  • Ensure successful follow through of sales cycle by maintaining accurate activity and lead qualification information in CRM application

Qualifications

  • Demonstrated ability to collaborate with a remote based sales team
  • Capability of understanding customer pain points, requirements and correlating potential business value that can be provided by Mews
  • Strong and professional communication skills -- written, verbal, presentation
  • Aptitude to manage numerous requests and time demands concurrently, while achieving production goals from assigned territories.
  • Promotes a strong sense of urgency for reaching goals and key deliverables. Acts without being told what to do. Brings new ideas to the company
  • Contributes fully to the team effort and plays an integral part in the smooth running of teams without necessarily taking the lead
  • Drive, Grit, Agility, Team Oriented: strong desire to compete and win

Requirements

  • Proven work experience as a Sales Director or Sales Orientated Team Lead
  • Hands on experience with CRM software and MS Office (MS Excel in particular)
  • Understanding of sales performance metrics
  • Excellent organizational and multitasking skills
  • A team player with high level
