We continue to build on our ambitions and projects, as such we are looking to hire a Playtest Coordinator to support the ongoing test and feedback process to help the Fall Guys team evolve this smash hit. Mediatonic is one of the UK’s largest independent games developers which delights in connecting people through original, mass-multiplayer game experiences and breaking the mould with weird and wonderful games across every platform.

Description:

Mediatonic is looking for a Play Test Coordinator to support in the ongoing test and feedback process for Fall Guys development team. As the Play Test Coordinator you’ll have an extremely important role in ensuring that our teams have the best level of feedback and insight into the levels and features they’re developing for the game. You’ll be working closely with a number of different sub-teams to organise and run play tests for all kinds of exciting new content and features coming to Fall Guys. The ideal candidate will have proven experience in testing at a senior level on a mid to large games project, the ability to whip play testers into a frenzy of excitement, and a knack for organisation and planning.

Details:

  • Responsible for maintaining playtest schedule across the team
  • Gather requirements for upcoming tests and making due dates clear to teams using the test service for delivery of their content and builds
  • Smoke testing playtest builds and content ahead of planned playtest times, ensure everything is ready on time to maximise our play sessions
  • Runs and supports the playtest session, keeping participants up to date, and making sure instructions and goals are clear to all team members
  • Manage large scale external testing partners to help ensure we have the right coverage for our testing needs
  • Responsible for the playtest environments and ensuring they are set up correctly for both QA needs and large scale playtest needs
  • Identify critical bugs and gather feedback from the test sessions, ensuring these are turned into clear actionable work items for the team to triage
  • Play a key role in identifying ways we can improve our playtesting process and tech, and be able to define requirements to be shared with other teams for support in building out improvements


Requirements

Description:

  • Experience within medium to large QA teams at a senior level
  • Excellent verbal, and written communication skills.
  • Strong IT literacy, and experience using a variety of bug databases.
  • Ability to log bugs to a high standard, with appropriate logging information, and media, whilst clearly demonstrating the issue.
  • Has worked to mentor more junior team members, and is able to organise, and set work for them using your resources efficiently.
  • Can create great test plans for upcoming, and in-flight features.
  • Experience working closely with Lead QAs, Production, and other team members to build the best darn quality game we can.
  • Some experience with planning and schedule management
  • Ability to be manage own time effectively
  • Ability to motivate and guide test participants.
  • Able to quickly and effectively identify and summarise issues and trends observed in tests


Details:

  • 3+ years of QA testing experience within video games.
  • Experience creating reports, and extrapolating data
  • May have more technical areas of expertise around network, compliance, or localisation testing.
  • Self-driven, problem-solver with demonstrable critical thinking skills.
  • Strong interpersonal skills: ability to effectively communicate with the development team.
