The Role:

You will be responsible for providing clear and detailed strategic paths on three levels of new and existing market entry, primarily focused on Ecommerce:

  • Digital enablement
  • Operational enablement
  • Regulatory enablement

Focusing on emerging markets and contributing to international expansion of both internally owned THG brands and external blue-chip Ingenuity clients. You will break down barriers to domestic entry in new and existing markets, developing a detailed understanding of the requirements and educating the business on best practices.

You will take end to end ownership, from initial conceptualisation through; feasibility assessments, entry model design, commercial benefit modelling, range analysis, regulatory and compliance assessments, establishment of legal entities, vendor / supplier selection, tech integrations and warehouse set up, right through to products dispatching locally.

In this role, you will help support leadership in company-wide decision-making through your critical thinking, strategic mentality, and data-driven approach. You should have excellent analytical, problem-solving, time-management, and collaboration skills, and the ability to clearly articulate and present information to stakeholders at all levels of the business.

Key Accountabilities:

  • Designing group level operating models and driving major cross-functional projects to enter and grow complex emerging markets around the world.
  • Developing internationalisation strategies cantered around the three core pillars of; Digital, Operational amp; Regulatory enablement.
  • You will act as the central project management function, liaising with various business units (Tech, Legal, Finance, Logistics, Procurement, Compliance etc) to co-ordinate all workstreams and ensure the projects are delivered on time.
  • Documenting all learning when entering new markets, laying the foundations for future growth and ensuring the strategy designed can be utilised by all other brands in the group (including any external clients that use THGs fulfilment infrastructure via Ingenuity).
  • Completing competitor analysis to identify opportunities to increase market share and improve profitability.
  • Ensure that the operation is designed to provide the best possible service to the largest proportion of our customer base, at the most competitive costs.
  • Support Mamp;A activities by designing amp; co-ordinating the operational integration approach.
  • Understand and document the baseline and current state of services and functions, define the β€˜to be’ state including TOM, organisational design, business processes, information flows, operational framework and performance metrics.
  • Anticipate and proactively address senior Management concerns, build consensus and enable decision making.
  • Drive a culture of continuous innovation and globally consistent standards.
  • Engaging a wide group of colleagues and third-party suppliers including technical SMEs to actively support improvement projects and research activity.
  • Significant focus on problem solving using a structured data driven approach.
  • Future thinking (3-5 years ahead), ensuring all initiatives are be scalable and solution orientated.

Requirements

  • Candidates will have hands on experience in strategic planning and delivery of new market entry and acquisition activity.
  • They will Ideally have experience establishing businesses in emerging markets with complex legal amp; regulatory requirements (such as South America, Middle East, India, Africa, Russia, etc).
  • An ability to distil actionable insight from deep quantitative and qualitative analyses and synthesize into practical, implementable strategies and tactics.
