The role reports into the Head of Finance - Marketforce. This role is responsible for the financial completeness of the ledger - Pamp;L, B/S and statements, working to a tight month-end timetable, for Marketforce revenue and associated statements and cashflow. This role will also provide key support to the wider Marketforce team and third party publishers.

Requirements

Core responsibilities:

• Close the Pamp;L, B/S and statements to a tight timetable.
• Post accruals and allocation journals.
• Provide commentary and variance analysis on month-end numbers.
• Interrogate the integrity of the ledger and reconcile transactions.
• Complete and review Balance Sheet Reconciliations and identify risk.
• Prepare Marketforce cashflow reporting and analysis.
• Ensure third party statements and financial records are in line and reflect the latest commercial terms.
• Be a key contact for external auditors and interim and year-end audit deliverables.
• Support the Marketforce finance team during the annual and forecast planning process.
• Deliver appropriate reporting/analysis to Marketforce and third party publishers as required.

Technical Capabilities

Essential skills and experience

• Newly qualified accountant: e.g., ACA, ACCA and CIMA.
• Graduate with 2:1 or higher with an Accounting amp; Finance or similar degree
• Experience of month-end close to a tight timetable
• Ownership of B/S reconciliations
• Strong MS Office skills including Excel (including pivot tables, macros and vlookups), Word and Powerpoint skills, as well as Google Sheets/docs)
• Excellent communication and collaboration skills
• Ability to quickly absorb and proactive approach to work.
• An enquiring mind with strong analysis and numerical ability
• The ability to be both a team player and able to work using your own initiative.
• An ability to work in an environment that changes at pace.

Desirable skills and experience

• An understanding of the media business desirable and cashflow
