Job Description

Selecta is the largest provider of unattended self-serve coffee and convenience food in Europe, leading the way in vending solutions and specialist coffee services. We are hiring a Credit Controller with proven success in a credit control position previously, along with a confident phone manner and who can manage potentially difficult or challenging situations to join our Credit Control Department, based out of Trafford Park.

The Role

As Credit Controller, you will be required to take ownership of your own ledger ensuring that all due invoices are paid according to contractual terms and the company’s Credit Policy. You will proactively chase customers for invoices that are due and where there is a deviation from policy, ensuring the necessary steps have been taken to recover the aged debt, driving a detailed resolution plan. You will also need to liaise with the sales, service, operations and regional branches on a regular basis ensuring that procedures and policies are adhered to, considered and implemented appropriately. Additionally you may be requested to provide ad-hoc reports to management when required.

Ad-hoc responsibilities include assisting with statement runs, dunning letters, master data amendments and outgoing posts.


Responsibilities

  • To maintain the allocated Accounts Receivable ledger.
  • To collect due invoices by phone, email and letter, as appropriate.
  • Log all disputes accurately and with precise information in the query management system.
  • Maintain accurate records and notes on customer contacts.
  • Meetings with line manager as required ascertaining status of debt.
  • Any other duty as may be reasonably expected, when asked by the line manager.
  • To negotiate full balances and settlements in accordance to the company policies and processes.
  • Competently use the clients' in-house collections and query management system.
  • Uploading documents to online portals.
  • Processing credit card payment.

Requirements

  • Previous experience working in a dedicated credit control position (reducing aged debt) is essential
  • Previous experience of call handling to a high standard
  • The ability to remain calm when under pressure
  • Collections experience; preferred but not essential
  • Excellent communication skills
  • The ability to treat all customers and colleagues in a fair and appropriate manner
  • Be organised and efficient
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
  • Excellent telephone manner
  • Good customer service skills
  • Proactive approach
  • Ability to grasp knowledge quickly
