Spotlight Sports Group is a media company that focuses on racing, football and sport, with a particular accent on content that informs bettors. The company comprises the Racing Post (which publishes the Racing Post as well as racingpost.com and soccerbase.com), Apsley (which publishes freesupertips.com and myracing.com) as well as ICS, a media services company based in Leeds which provides B2B content for clients as well as publishing consumer websites. Spotlight Sports also publishes pickswise.com, which is aimed at the emerging US betting market. The business employs approximately 450 permanent staff and also hires a large number of freelancers and contractors across its offices in London, Leeds, Bristol, Dublin and the United States.
This is the person we need
We are seeking an experienced SDET (Software Development Engineer In Test) to lead efforts in the Automation testing of our web applications.
Responsibilities
- Create and maintain scalable and robust Test Automation Framework
- Designing and implementing Web Automation tests (JavaScript)
- Integrating Test Automation into the CI / CD pipeline
- Develop mocks/stubs to facilitate integration testing
- Setting up and maintaining testing environments
- Solving testing technical challenges
- Defect and issue tracking management with tools such as JIRA
- Mentoring and sharing the tools and frameworks you create with the wider development and quality engineering team
- Help drive best practices and processes across the team
Requirements
- Solid Experience of implementing Test Automation Frameworks (Cucumber, BDD)
- Proficient at BDD
- Strong experience with JavaScript
- Solid understanding of OOP and related concepts
- Strong understanding of the standard web stack (HTML, CSS, Javascript)
- Experience and understanding of Exploratory testing
- Experience of non-functional testing
- Experience of working in an Agile development environment (SCRUM, Kanban)
- Design, develop and execute Unit tests, Integration tests and experience in UI automation testing
- Strong critical thinking amp; analysis skills to determine where automation can be most optimally and effectively implemented
- Excellent communication skills verbal amp; written
Desired
- Proven industry experience of researching and evaluating testing tools and developing solutions
- Strong critical thinking amp; analysis skills to determine where automation can be most optimally and effectively implemented
- Experience of delivery through Continuous Integration (CI) and Continuous Deployment (CD) environments
- Experience setting up and maintaining testing environments
- Experience in using test doubles (stubbing / mocking)
- Experience in setting up parallel test execution device farms such as Sauce Labs or BrowserStack advantageous
- Knowledge of Structured Query Language (SQL)
- Experience dealing with AWS services such as Lambdas, elastic containers, etc
- Self-motivated team player with a strong desire to learn new skills and grow, whilst also being able to self-manage
