We are seeking a Backend Tech Lead for an exciting new project within Chessable. It allows a chess-coach to teach a large group over a shared chess-board; with many features to engage everyone at once, including quizzes amp; tournaments. We use websockets and video-streaming, on a React frontend, with a PHP backend.
Your role will be as owner of the PHP code. Such a multi-faceted project creates high complexity, and the only way this is managed is through very well structured code. The right person for this position should have a constant focus on code readability; be concerned with proper architecture (using PHP7), and be adept with Object Oriented PHP. You will be responsible for ensuring that all developers in the team adhere to the standards you set for the backend.
