Operational Excellence at THG delivers world-class Operations Transformation across the nutrition division and the wider group, identifying and implementing operational efficiencies and enabling global growth.

Reporting to the Head of Operational Excellence, the Operational Excellence Manager will be key in driving continuous improvement of processes with the aim of optimising business performance. The successful candidate will be a creative thinker with an analytical mindset; having the proven ability to analyse complex data and identify key themes and trends that will inform the approach the business takes.

This role will suit an individual who has a methodical approach to work, with a skillset obtained via project/change management qualifications and honed through experience.

Key Accountabilities:

  • Consult and advise the business on how to build and continuously improve core processes to optimise performance.
  • Develop analytical insight to inform and influence business decision making.
  • Identify root cause of problems and instigate improvement initiatives across the entire business.
  • Reduce costs and increase service through delivery of strategic change.
  • Ensure delivery of projects on-time, in-full and within budget.
  • Understand and document the baseline and current state of services and functions, define the ‘to be’ state including TOM, organisational design, business processes, information flows, operational framework and performance metrics.
  • Defining project scope, objectives amp; measures of success.
  • Planning, scheduling amp; communicating project timelines.
  • Identify, translate, communicate and help to prioritise ongoing business needs and opportunities.
  • Engaging a wide group of colleagues and third-party suppliers including technical SMEs to actively support improvement projects and research activity.
  • Significant focus on problem solving using a structured data driven approach.
  • Future thinking (1-3 years ahead), ensuring all initiatives are be scalable and solution orientated.
  • Proven track record in working across multiple channels and of delivery of various sized projects within a FMCG business.
  • Confident in presenting to senior leadership level, with ability to respond to challenges about performance and articulate plans.
  • A fantastic organiser with ability to manage workflow and budgets efficiently whilst working towards tight deadlines.
  • Creative thinking with a positive, ‘can-do’ attitude.
  • A logical thinker with a high level of computer literacy and the ability to learn new technologies and programs quickly.
  • Demonstrates strong leadership skills and has a collaborative style; able to work in a fast-paced growth organisation, lead project teams and work within them in an environment of high change.
  • Ability to manage a number of initiatives concurrently including change initiatives which require experience of change management and project management principles.
  • A solid understanding of various change management and business improvement disciplines and methodologies (e.g. Prince 2, Agile, Lean Six-Sigma).
  • A structured approach and methodical thinking, with the ability to translate data and insights into actionable business improvement design.
  • Excellent communication skills, with the ability to convey ideas via strong written, verbal communication and presentation skills to all levels of seniority and disciplines within the organisation. An effective and experienced stakeholder manager.
