About us
LendInvest is a leading non-bank property lender; having provided c.1bn of BTL, bridging and development mortgages in FY19/20. It finances its lending through its own discretionary funds, RMBS, bonds, bank facilities, forward flow and separate account arrangements. It is looking to substantially grow its origination and loan book over the next 5 years and is looking for a Head of Capital Raising to secure the capital to deliver this, principally through the growth of its existing fund, the launch of new funds, and bringing in partners for forward flow or separate account arrangements.
LendInvest has been managing funds for over 10 years delivering investors high single digit returns backed by short term real estate bridging and development loans. The LendInvest Real Estate Opportunity Fund, a Luxembourg SICAV SIF with a GAV of c.300m, has a supportive and diverse investor base of small institutions, banks and family office investors. To meet its growth objectives, LendInvest is looking to launch a new series of closed-end funds appealing to larger institutional investors as well as bringing in institutions on a separate account or forward flow basis to fund specific property loan sub-sets.
About the role
- Reporting directly to the co-founder and CIO and working closely with the CIO to build the strategy and business plan to grow as an alternative investment management platform
- Director and Member of the Board (alongside CEO, CIO and COO) for LendInvest Funds Management Limited (our fund management arm and main regulated subsidiary)
- Lead the fund distribution strategy for the existing fund, future funds (within a series) and separate account investors.
- Introduce and maintain new institutional relationships for Lendinvest globally
- Manage and assist in the development of the existing fund sales team, helping the team to build relationships and increase capital invested from the existing investor base
- Develop and maintain relationships with existing investors, ensuring that investors are kept up to date with the performance and strategy.
- Manage and select (as may be necessary) third party placement and distribution agents
- Be the face of capital raising for Lendinvest, speaking on industry panels and at industry events as required
- Lead and manage investor roadshows globally
- Assist with fund structuring, jurisdiction and service provider selection
- Manage third party legal, professional teams and inhouse resources in order to establish new fund or financing structures
- Expand the distribution team (as necessary) to ensure that the business meets its ambitious growth plans
About you
- Strong track record in capital raising
- High market profile in capital raising preferably for credit funds
- Experience of regulated client-dealing function role under the Senior Manager Certification Regime and have had relevant qualifications and training for this
- Proven track record building long term relationships and leading a sales team
- Broad institutional investor relationships
- Excellent understanding of capital markets funding structures
- Understanding of fund structure and jurisdictional differences as well as investor promotion and distribution regulations
- Curiosity and desire to expand your understanding of LendInvest
- Willingness to self start and lead by example
