Job Description

Our client are seeking a Service Management Tools Engineer to join their team. The role is based in Corsham. The role requires SC clearance and candidates must be a sole UK national.

Requirements are scheduled to run until 30/09/2021 (90 days max)

Rate: 450 - 550/day

IR35 STATUS: Inside IR35. Our client has indicated that they intend to operate the engagement as Inside IR35. Candidates would be required to operate through an umbrella company on this engagement. The rates above represent rate payable to the umbrella co.

The Role

As part of this task, the selected resource will be delivering into the New Style of IT Deployed β€˜NSoIT(D)’ area of Deployed Platform Services (DPS) Delivery Team in Defence Digital.

For NSoIT(D) to be deployed there is a need to develop, align and integrate NSoIT(D) service management tooling against the developed architecture, including across the security domains and service support organisations. DPS need direct technical support on implementing the enterprise tooling and fully understanding key risks and limitations with the planned approach.

This task will focus on ensuring that the technical aspects of Service Management Tooling (notable SMITs tooling with a large element of BMC Tools) adhere to the architecture and meet the requirements of Security and Service Management and allows DPS to fulfil its role.

The primary objective is to specify the impact of BMC Tools against the architecture and alignment of process and tooling. Deep code and architectural knowledge of BMC Tools is required together with an understanding of the engineering design, architecture, service management use cases, concept of operations and the proposed service management solution.

SC Clearance required from start. Expected start 01/05/2021 up to 30/09/2021. Maximum level of effort of 90 days. The primary location of work is remote with travel to MOD Corsham as required. The Authority will provide appropriate IT and accounts.

Deliverables

  • Support implementation of enterprise tooling to deliver a service management capability across the deployed environment.
  • Deliver technical reports detailing appropriate versions of BMC selected tools.
  • Update the architectural solution design.
  • Update technical reports detailing how the tooling being implemented fits the requirements for both a Security and Service Management service.
  • Refine Use Cases.
  • Refine the deployment method and configuration of Remedy ITSM.
  • Document and report activities through JIRA and CONFLUENCE reports, tracked through Engineering Sprint Reports.
  • Work closely with the NSoIT(D) team and working directly with the Design Architecture lead and Engineering Director.

Skills Required

  • Deep code level and architectural knowledge of BMC Tools.
  • Understanding of an Agile working environment.
  • Architectural solution design to show how BMC tooling will fit into the multi-forest, multi-tenant architecture.

Candidate Eligibility

Candidates must be eligible to work in the UK, this role will not offer Visa sponsorship. Tier 2 General visas are cannot be accepted.
