Job Description
Working in Commercial Finance at Future means partnering with leaders and Brand MD’s. This is an opportunity for a qualified Accountant to join us as an International company, offering exposure across a highly successful business area!
Joining us as a Finance Business Partner you will lead the subscriptions and marketing business areas, partnering with our Chief Marketing Officer. You’ll build a deep commercial understanding of subscriber models and will have full insight of revenues, cash flow, marketing spend and operating costs in order to optimally handle budgets whilst supervising the work of Management Accountants within the team.
- Overseeing the completeness amp; close of the month end for subscriptions amp; Marketing function.
- Line manager/ mentor to and review the work of Management Accounts Assistants: including ownership of associated B/S control accounts.
- Review and provide commentary and variance analysis on month-end numbers.
- Submission of annual budgets amp; forecast for key revenues, cost of sales amp; overheads areas of the Pamp;L.
- Deliver robust rolling and the latest revenue performance estimates on behalf of the subscription business for weekly MI reporting and maintenance of associated core important metric reporting (Supported by a BI function).
- Catalyst to Quarterly Business Reviews and Monthly performance reviews with the CEO and executive leadership.
- Support the Subscriptions team on subscriber modelling
- Engage with the business to improve marketing strategies for both acquisition and retention of subscribers
- Drive operational improvements in reporting tools and softwares, to ensure robust reporting and systems.
- Deliver appropriate reporting/analysis to the business as required.
Requirements
- Qualified accountant: e.g. CIMA, ACCA, with PQE
- Experience of month-end close to a tight timetable
- Experience working with subscriptions or other similar complex financial models
- Strong MS Office skills including Excel (including pivot tables, macros and vlookups), Word and Powerpoint skills, as well as Google Sheets/docs
- Excellent communication and collaboration skills
- Ability to quickly absorb and proactive approach to work
- An enquiring mind with strong analysis and numerical ability
- The ability to be both a great teammate and able to work using your own initiative
- An ability to work in an environment that changes at pace
An understanding of the media and subscriptions business desirable
