This is an exciting role as a senior member of the Group finance team, reporting to our VP External Reporting. You will work within a wider team responsible for all external group and statutory reporting for DAZN and its subsidiaries. You will be responsible for overseeing the group balance sheet and leading the group consolidation process. This role involves remotely managing a small team of two people in the Poland office who are responsible for processing group journals and running the consolidation model. You will bring strong technical skills to deal with complex consolidation principles and detailed group adjustments and will also be able to summarise and report information in a succinct way that provides value-add to senior stakeholders. You will need to have excellent business partnering and communication skills as the role involves regular interaction with other parts of finance and the wider the business. - Lead the monthly group consolidation, including managing the preparation and review of the consolidation model, group adjustments, eliminations and related disclosures
- Partner with management accounting team and shared service centre to ensure accurate reporting of balance sheet items and advise on any group or statutory reporting impacts
- Own various corporate areas of the balance sheet such as borrowings, financial instruments, interest, intercompany, investments in Joint Ventures/associates
- Advise (with other members of the team) on the accounting and consolidation impacts of any Mamp;A and corporate restructuring activity
- Oversee all intercompany, including development of new and improved processes and policies around intra-group transactions
- Manage a small remote team, reviewing their outputs and ensuring processes and controls are effective
- Key point of contact with external auditors on corporate balance sheet items
- Interaction with legal and other advisors on transactions where necessary
DO YOU HAVE THESE ESSENTIALS?
- Qualified accountant (ACA or equivalent) with significant PQE (3+ years)
- Excellent technical IFRS knowledge and exposure to group accounting
- Practical hands-on experience in large group consolidations, preferably using consolidation software
- Line management or team leadership experience
- Effective communication and partnering skills, preferably with experience in business partnering
- Project management skills and ability to deliver against tight reporting deadlines
- Ability to work in an agile and flexible way, dealing with a rapidly changing environment and shifting priorities
- Strong IT Skills necessary (Advanced Excel, Word, PowerPoint)
NOT ESSENTIAL BUT GREAT IF YOU ALSO HAVE
- Experience using Oracle desirable
- Experience in SEC reporting and/or SOX compliance
- Exposure to Media, Tech or Sports industries
