Requirements

Your day to day responsibilities will include:

Group Technical Accounting Expertise

• Providing guidance to the business on technical accounting matters. Be the first point of contact for business units and central functions on technical accounting issues.
• Providing guidance on external reporting requirements, including the Group Annual Report and UK statutory accounts.
• Keeping up to date with all technical accounting developments and pro-actively communicating potential impact to Group Financial Controller, CFO and other business stakeholders (including the impact on the group of new accounting standards).
• Leading the Group goodwill impairment review process.
• Being the first point of contact with external auditors in relation to the above.

External Reporting

• Leading the process for preparation of the ‘Financial Statements’ section of the Rentokil Initial plc annual report and contributing to other areas (strategic report and governance sections) as necessary.
• Being the main point of contact with the audit team and facilitating an efficient audit of the annual report.
• Taking the finance lead on the team preparing the annual report.
• Performing the same role for half year interim statements.
• Preparing (and guiding other preparers) statutory accounts for UK entities.

Finance business partner to the Group Property Director

• Providing financial support on all property matters, including financial modelling (e.g. on sale and leaseback transactions), support on preparation of business cases, support on accounting implications of proposals/activities and forecasting.
• Attending Investment Committee meetings on property matters.
• Management and financial reporting of environmental property provision balance across the globe.

Other duties include

• Reporting for the UK pension schemes, including liaison with external parties in respect of valuation assumptions and accounting.
• Preparation of statutory accounts for certain Group legal entities.
• Responsible for maintenance and communication of the Accounting Policy Manual.
• Additional responsibilities as required on an ad hoc basis.

We are looking for

• ACA, ACCA, CIMA or equivalent qualified accountant with relevant accounting experience.
• Experience of working on preparation of annual report and accounts, either as a preparer or an auditor.
• Experience of preparing statutory and management accounts.
