The role

As a Business Development Manager for Retail, you will be a key asset in this growth: you will be responsible for engaging with senior decision-makers across the UK retail industry and bring onboard new fast-growing, high volume retailers to join our existing portfolio of rapidly growing retailers. You will be in charge of signing new large accounts to support the growth of Stuart’s Retail vertical, as well as work closely with the rest of the commercial team to reinforce our service offering in the Retail industry.

You will be joining a great team at one of the most promising start-ups in Europe, surrounded by entrepreneurs passionate about disrupting existing models throughout technology. You will be reporting directly to the Sales Lead for Retail.


Responsibilities
  • Accelerate the growth of Stuart by generating new opportunities and signing large retailer accounts map and target top decision-makers (Managing Directors, Operations Directors, Marketing amp; Ecommerce Directors, Supply Chain Directors, IT Directors..) in a methodical way
  • Create, manage and grow complex sales pipeline in total autonomy, and follow up prospects through available CRM tools (Salesforce)
  • Lead pitches, negotiations amp; tenders with strong support from the commercial team
  • Collaborate across teams (Product and Operations) to better focus client-facing efforts, taking the initiative to identify issues and finding solutions
  • Build and deliver compelling demonstrations, pitches and sales materials with the support of our Marketing team
  • Work closely with our Customer Solutions Engineering team and clients’ teams to oversee the successful technical integration of our service
  • Represent Stuart at various events such as fairs and conferences in the UK and Europe

Requirements

  • 4+ years of experience in a Sales, Business Development or Account Management role, ideally in a high growth startup / retail / logistics company, with long sales cycles from outreach to closure
  • Significant experience amp; success in Sales and Enterprise clients environment, with top decision-makers
  • Ability to develop relationships at the senior level and to handle complex sales cycles
  • C Level and Senior Management standing
  • Adopt a consultative approach to understand key needs, pain points and strategies of your clients
  • Experience managing key projects involving multiple stakeholders from different teams and countries
  • Ability to support the Senior Business Development Manager as well as the wider commercial on key initiatives
  • Exceptional attention to detail and ability to manage time efficiently
  • Ideally, previous experience selling API-based products and services
  • Curious, adaptive, resilient amp; results-oriented
  • Fluency in English.
