About the Role

We are looking for a PhD-level life scientist who can write impeccably, and importantly enjoys the writing process. You're someone who loves to research and write about cutting-edge products, technologies and applications, and you'll also be eager to engage with clients and interview customers.

As Scientific Editor, you will create and deliver engaging scientific content across all of Lifebit’s digital channels and allocated projects. As an editor specialised in Genomics and Artificial Intelligence, you will provide expertise to internal/external stakeholders and work in partnership with members of the Marketing and Commercial teams.

You must have an interest in all the sciences and be able to quickly understand the benefits of complex technical products and applications in:

  • Genomics, molecular biology/molecular diagnostics
  • Drug discovery
  • General life science/biotech (and clinical) laboratory
  • Population Genomics
  • urces (Data science, AI, cloud, any tech stack, painting, origami, you pick!) - we offer 1,000 a year to each person for personal development)

Requirements

Results and Delivery
  • Be able to translate the science with clarity, integrity, empathy and impact
  • Distil complex science into clear, well-structured and meaningful communications
  • Ensure communication and educational messages are relevant, actionable and demonstrate a positive impact on patient outcomes
  • Input to strategic thinking, publication planning, scientific platform, narrative and lexicon development
  • Deliver projects to the brief, scope and timelines required
  • Carry out routine updates with thought leaders when the projects require
  • Ensure the processes for quality control and reviewing materials are adhered to and all work has been proofread and edited appropriately
  • Maintain a content calendar in order to ensure timely and regular content updates on the blog and other digital channels
  • Coordinate with the Marketing team to write and issue Press Releases and other important external-facing communications

Education

Ideally educated to a graduate level, with PhD/MSc and or BSc in science


Experience amp; Skills
  • Proven medical writing with at least one years’ experience
  • Organised with excellent time-management skills
  • Good attention to detail
  • Proactive and enthusiastic
  • Competent in Google Suite (i.e. Slides, Docs, Spreadsheet) or MS Office including Excel
