Engineering at Workfinder

Engineering plays a vital role at Workfinder, building the platform and engine that powers our product and delivers our mission. We’re on the hunt for a full-time full-stack software development engineer. The product you’ll be building will be game-changing for the lives of millions of people around the world and you’ll have great autonomy to shape the direction of this.

The challenges of building the Workfinder product span from designing a market-leading recommendations algorithm to optimising real-time dashboards. The role is remote at present, but candidates can be based anywhere in the UK.

Requirements

We believe in using the best technologies for everything we do and we build simple and reliable systems. You’ll be working in a team that primarily uses:

• Python and relevant framework e.g. Flask or Django

You’re not expected to have expertise in all these technologies but we would like at least 2 of the above.

We’d also welcome experience in the following:

• Expertise in JavaScript
• Understand when to use REST
• Working knowledge of production issues - load handling, optimisation, caching, CDNs, physical architecture, cloud hosting, etc.
• Experience in D3.js
• AWS, ElasticBeanStalk
• Redis
• ElasticSearch

Candidate requirements

• 3-5 years of experience
• You can communicate clearly and concisely
• You enjoy collaborating and learning from people from various backgrounds and experiences
• You want to feel proud of the work you’re doing and its impact on customers
• You can demonstrate how you’ve created functionality, intelligence amp; value out of a platform
• You are a high quality test-driven coder, who can peer review code, keep high standards and be a role model to others
