Job in a nutshell:

Due to internal progression, Nutmeg's finance team is on the lookout for an Assistant Accountant. You will be the first point of contact for all accounts payable enquiries, both internally and externally, and take a proactive role in month-end processes (reconciling fixed assets, accruals, prepayments, and reporting). In addition to this, you will have the opportunity to review current financial processes, suggest and implement improvements.

We anticipate that you are either a Part-Qualified Accountant, or are motivated to start studying. You will be given the chance to study for either your ACCA or CIMA qualification, with a generous study package on offer.

  • Manage the day-to-day accounting process and cycles, including processing journal entries.
  • Operate the accounts payable cycle including supplier set up, invoice receipt, payment and reconciliation. Ensure payment runs are prepared for review and authorisation and provide remittance to all third party suppliers.
  • Monitor and process the credit card and expense returns and providing accurate reimbursement of employee expenses.
  • Support the Management Accountant to prepare the OPEX budgets.
  • Document finance/ accounting processes as they evolve.
  • Ad hoc projects, reporting and financial analysis.
  • Matching of PO’s to invoices and reconciliation.
  • Assistance with departmental and other ad-hoc reporting on a monthly basis.
  • Management of petty cash.
