About the Position

We are looking for a Research Engineer with a passion for working at the cutting edge of machine learning and AI to bring new capabilities to content creators around the world. You will join a high impact team of scientists and engineers, working on deeply technical problems in direct collaboration with internationally leading academics in the field.

If you have a proven track record of experience in natural language processing, speech analysis and speech synthesis, and you are as just as comfortable diving into computer vision problems dealing with image pixels as working with audio data, then we have an exciting opportunity for you. At Synthesia we want to connect audio and visual research domains, come and join our voice-to-video team to work on creating completely plausible photo-real digital humans in speech.


Responsibilities
  • Solve real-world challenges and bring new cutting edge technologies to market
  • Implement and test new deep learning techniques for audio/visual synthesis of digital humans
  • Propose, build and maintain data-sets to reflect real-world test cases
  • Design evaluation metrics to benchmark performance and optimise solutions ready for deployment
  • Validate performance against user requirements and propose new solutions to meet product requirements
  • Develop production ready code and the deployment stack for video generation at scale on cloud infrastructure
  • Work collaboratively across all areas of Ramp;D to propose improvements and maintain best practise
  • Engage across the company with key stakeholders to ensure solutions meet company objectives

Requirements

  • A proven track record in machine learning for computer vision
  • A proven track record in machine learning working on speech analysis and speech synthesis
  • A proven track record of impact in software development demonstrated through contributions to open source projects
  • A proven record of achievements through academic publications, industrial projects, or international competitions
  • A proven record of experience in industrial software development working with cloud infrastructure
  • Deep knowledge and understanding of the latest models, techniques and innovations in deep learning
  • An MSc in Computer Science focusing on Computer Vision and Deep Learning is desirable.
  • Strong expertise in modern machine learning frameworks (TensorFlow, PyTorch)
  • Strong expertise in software development (Python, C++)
  • Experience in the use of cloud services preferred (AWS)
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skill
