Why was First Light started?
- Fundamentally we have a passion for games that we feel we can share with the world by creating the the most accessible and satisfying experiences possible
- As out first vision states we wanted to create a studio where we could work and create games in a way informed by our past experiences in some of the world’s top studios and to use those lessons to go further and be better than before
Product Vision
- Why? Because there is no game on the mobile market that offers a meaningful, accessible, and fun cooperative RPG experience that you can easily play together with friends
- What? To build a mobile Co-Op game that we love to play together
Responsibilities
Work closely with designers, artists and other engineers to achieve the vision of the game and ensure a great player experience.
- Write clear, maintainable code to implement new features in Unity using C#, that can be understood by any future you and even by a potential new junior programmer
- Architect large scalable systems with the team
- Use Git for your code, with pull requests amp; code reviews
- Work in an agile development process to release a mobile game to iOS amp; Android
Requirements
- 5+ years professional experience as a software engineer working in a game development team (+7 for technical Director).
- Knowledge of scalable software architectures and distributed services
- Experience in OOP with Unity3D in C#
- Experience shipping a game on mobile
- A passion for making games!
Pluses
- Experience working on a Live Ops game
- Experience working on an online game, preferable an online shooter
- Experience with back-end amp; network engineering
- Experience in Data-Driven programming with Unity3D in C#
- 2+ Years leading teams
- Interest in F2P games
