Job Description

At Micrographia Bio, we believe that all diseases deserve a cure. We are a London-based, deep-biotech startup operating at the intersection between cell biology, machine-learning, and engineering in order to tackle the hardest problems in drug discovery.

We are adding a Molecular Biology Scientist to our multi-disciplinary team of experts in molecular and cellular biology, machine learning, robotics, biotech finance, immunology, and biophysics. Responsibilities

  • Develop strategies for systematic, automated cloning
  • Design and streamlined production of modified oligonucleotides
  • Plan, execute, and analyse molecular and cell-based assays
  • Collaborate with Molecular Biology And Optics engineers
  • Communicate molecular biology concepts and results to a multi-disciplinary team

Requirements

Must haves
  • PhD graduate (or Master’s degree with equivalent lab experience) in molecular, cellular, or synthetic biology
  • Demonstrated experience in cloning strategies, molecular and cell-based assays
  • Demonstrated experience in delivering high quality results
  • Ability to think critically and adapt in a fast-paced start-up environment
  • Ability to work to highest standards and communicate effectively and concisely
Should haves
  • Experience or strong interest in establishing and optimising automated workflows
  • Familiarity with cutting-edge molecular cloning techniques such as Gibson assembly or Golden Gate cloning
  • Hands-on experience in cell culture and transfection techniques
Nice to haves
  • Familiarity with oligonucleotide-based imaging techniques, such as MER-FISH, DNA-PAINT, etc
  • Experience in start-ups, biotechnology or life sciences
