About The Role:
This is a position within one of our development teams, where you will be assisting in the delivery of a diverse number of e-commerce projects. It would be a technical and hands-on role that would suit a senior developer looking to use their experience in various web technologies, as you will be working on products built predominantly on PHP, React and Node.js using Typescript
This role offers challenges across a wide variety of projects and responsibilities, including the opportunity to influence the future direction of the products your team is responsible for, and possibly even the rest of the e-commerce department as a whole.
All our teams are multi-discipline, so the candidate would have a mix of some (or ideally a good percentage of) the following skills:
The Skills:
- Good experience in writing high quality PHP code following TDD principles
- Experience with working on React and NodeJS is beneficial
- Exposure to microservices architecture
- Knowledge of AWS or other cloud technologies is beneficial
- Any prior experience in using monitoring and logging technologies such Splunk or New Relic would be good
- Good understanding of serverless technologies such as AWS Lambda is beneficial
- Must have worked on developing REST API's
- Magento experience is beneficial
- Excellent JavaScript knowledge is required
- Should have a good working knowledge of code deployment using CI/CD
- Must have used source control, preferably git, to manage code
- Good understanding of Agile Project Management (Scrum or Kanban)
- Should have the willingness to coach/pair with other developers
Requirements
The Responsibilities:
On a day-to-day basis you’ll work hands on within a team picking up tickets from the backlog and writing good quality software keeping concepts such as scalability and security in mind. As a senior developer you will be expected to contribute actively during high level design and problem-solving discussions. Our key objective as an engineering team is to ensure the highest quality software is deployed safely and quickly into production without major drama.

You should be highly motivated, keen and methodical in your work, will have a good focus on developing solutions to solve problems and a willingness to learn. It goes without saying that you’ll have exceptional attention to detail backed by superb verbal and written communication skills. You’ll enjoy being a team player and are passionate about sharing the knowledge you have with the wider team you’ll be working with.
