What you’ll be doing

In this newly created stand-alone role of Internal amp; Employee Comms Lead, you will be responsible for developing and delivering excellent internal communications at MADE.COM, which increase understanding of and engagement with our mission, values and strategic priorities.

Duties and responsibilities include:

  • Lead the development and delivery of MADE.COM’s internal and employee communications, ensuring our organisational strategy, direction, priorities and operational performance is communicated clearly to all staff and in a way that motivates them to deliver to their best.
  • Energise and engage staff, through relevant and inspiring communications, linking individuals to the organisation’s strategy and key moments.
  • Oversee all MADE.COM’s core internal communications platform and channels, ensuring that they reflect our strategic priorities, vision, mission, values and brand.
  • Measure the performance of MADE’s internal communications platform and channels and strive for continuous improvement streamlining, developing and optimising them for best results.
  • Coordinate our monthly All Hands meeting, Brilliant Breakfast series, and other all-staff meetings and events.
  • Write, edit, commission and curate content for use in internal communications.
  • Working in partnership with the HR and Brand teams, project manage the co-creation our Employee Value Proposition, and delivery of supporting communications.
  • Advise the Leadership Team on internal communications approach for all-staff messages.
  • Advise on communications approach for key HR or other internal projects and workstreams, working closely with the HR team.
  • Work with our External communications agency to ensure that external in internal comms are aligned at all times - ensuring that the internal team is kept up to date as appropriate.
  • Work closely with the Brand Marketing team to ensure all internal comms reflect MADE’s brand and tone of voice.
  • Work closely with the HR team to track, measure and understand employee engagement, and identify and deliver supporting internal comms initiatives.
  • Advise employee groups, such as our Culture Club and Diversity amp; Inclusion Council, on related internal comms.
  • Advise and support on internal communications in the event of any reactive crisis management incidents.
  • Plan and perform ‘air traffic control’ for internal communications oversee the sequencing, prioritisation and messaging of communications to all staff, responding to shifting internal/external conditions as appropriate
  • Develop new internal communications channels/tactics, innovating and testing new approaches and keeping up to date with internal communications best practices.
  • Lead and project manage targeted pieces of strategic communications as required.
  • Keep up to date with current practice in internal comms, and bring new ideas and innovation to pilot at MADE.COM.

Requirements

What you’ll need

  • Demonstrable experience in internal communications, ideally in a fast-paced eCommerce tech or retail environment.
  • Outstanding communication skills, both verbal and written able to distil complex ideas and information into clear, compelling communications.
  • Able to work quickly and efficiently under pressure, producing high quality work to tight deadlines.
  • Able to influence and gain agreement for ideas and proposals from a variety of stakeholders.
