Job Description

Fy! is building a marketplace that helps enable shoppers to discover, find and buy creative items from thousands of retailers. When decorating their houses, people sometimes don't know what they want, but we can help them!

We're building recommendation and curation algorithms as well as content to drive a highly relevant, useful shopping experience. And we're applying those techniques to lifecycle notifications (emails, push notifications, SMS, direct mail etc) in order to improve shopper, artist, influencer and supplier activation, engagement and resurrection and ultimately LTV.

You will be one of the key members of a highly talented growth team and you will work closely with our engineering, data, creative and merchandising teams in developing this critical area of the growth stack.

What you'll be up to

  • Lead on the vision and development of retention marketing technologies used at Fy!
  • Be the go-to marketing technology counterpart to the product and engineering teams supporting growth and retention marketing
  • You'll be working with the growth, data and user acquisition channel teams to develop shopper audience strategies that provide the bedrock of our acquisition, activation, engagement, referral and resurrection strategies across all channels (owned, earned and paid).
  • You'll be responsible for the set up and development of all notification channels (email, SMS, push notifications, in-app notifications, direct mail, Whatsapp etc) using internal and external tools
  • You'll develop and execute high impact, highly personalised notifications campaigns that drive user behaviours and build habits.
  • Support the experiment backlog for notifications: planning and running many A/B and multi-variate tests that help us learn about the best audience strategies, messaging, creative, promotions cadences etc.
  • Work with engineering, data and product teams to develop tooling and product that enables us to send increasingly relevant, timely and impact notifications across shoppers and suppliers lifecycles
  • Share insights and learnings with our creative and content teams to help deliver compelling, relevant and on-brand messaging and creative to our shoppers

Requirements

Who are we looking for?

First and foremost you've got a track record of leading retention marketing in a fast growing business. You have a deep understanding of retention marketing concepts, metrics, analytics and technologies.

You're one of the best at what you do and know it. More specifically you tick most if not all of these boxes:

  • Advanced Technical skills. Our notification toolset is homegrown. This offers significant benefits in personalisation, relevance and our ability to scale the channel but means that you need to be technical:
    • You are proficient in Python or JS as well as SQL
    • You understand HTML, templating and CSS basics but won't be expected to actively code HTML rather manage offshore support here
    • You've experience working extensively with product and engineering teams
    • You're comfortable using tools like Google Tag Manager, Branch, Google Analytics etc
    • You've got a keen interest in data science and machine learning techniques and their application to retention marketing
    • Self-sufficient and hands on experience in pulling and modelling data from data warehouses for audience modelling, segmentations, forecasting etc (SQL, Python)
  • Collaborating. You're good with people, earn their respect, help them grow and learn amp; deliver their best.
  • Growth mindset. You're humble, curious and tenacious. You know that 80% of experiments fail but are methodical and relentless in learning.
  • Intensely motivated. You never give up and hold yourself and others to very high standards.
