Associate Data Scientist

Job Description
At MATCHESFASHION we are on a mission to make data the primary source of information for guiding the decisions we make. As a result, we are looking for talented Data Scientists to help us on our journey. Working as part of the data team you will join a highly-skilled department that will challenge you to develop innovative solutions to the problems presented to you. To help you, the role is highly collaborative, and you will be interacting with other data scientists, engineers, and product managers.
Data science at MATCHESFASHION falls into one of three streams: customer, efficiency and recommendations. The recommendations team plays a critical role in personalisation because MATCHESFASHION customers face a paradox of choice as a result of the thousands of products we offer, in growing categories and from an increasing number of brands; and with less time to find what excites them. We aim to maximise their ability to discover relevant products: it is critical that we recommend products, categories, or brands that they will want to buy. Data Science lets us offer tailored product discovery through a greater understanding of each customer’s preference.
Responsibilities
- Collaborate with Product Managers to seek out the best value of Data Science applications and plan out the roadmap for future DS projects
- Collaborate with Data Engineers to facilitate data needs.
- Own the models and analysis you create. Start simple, iterate, and add complexity.
- Perform advanced analysis to support other teams for improved business decision making and actions.
- Develop and support business model testing to validate models through hypothesis testing.
- Model maintenance and reproducibility is important. We use Databricks and MLflow to help us employ good MLOps practices.

Requirements
You are a passionate and expert Data Scientist who is not afraid of a challenge and aims to push the boundaries:
- Experienced Data Scientist with a strong STEM background
- Solid understanding of machine learning and statistical modelling fundamentals
- Experienced data wrangling and data processing skills
- Experience with AWS cloud services or other Cloud platforms
- Expert in Python, SQL
- Experience with deep learning frameworks (Pytorch, Tensorflow)
- Containerisation expertise Docker, Kubernetes
- Experience in dealing with and managing business stakeholders
- Capable of translating complex technical problems and presenting to wider audiences
- Good data visualisation, statistical and descriptive analytics skills
- Appreciate the importance of good code quality and reproducible experiments
