Job Description

Our people are at the very heart of what we do, they are the reason our clients work with us to solve some of their greatest challenges. At Frazer-Nash, we want all of our people to feel they belong, confident in the knowledge that we value and respect the commitment they have made by entrusting their careers and expertise to us.

We are committed to fostering a working culture that brings out the very best in our people, regardless of their circumstances, identity or background. We want our people to be themselves, feel empowered to achieve their personal and professional goals, and know that we respect the unique value they bring to the company. In support of this, we encourage thoughtful behaviours and work to foster a collaborative working environment.

Frazer-Nash control systems teams support a variety of regulated and safety critical industries, often as part of the highest profile engineering challenges currently in the UK. We are working on process plant design projects, safety system assessments and obsolescence replacement projects, particularly in the impact of the introduction of SMART instruments into safety critical systems, in multiple sectors and have targets to grow each of these service capabilities. These projects involve many aspects of control and functional safety lifecycle activities, from requirements capture to qualification. We support this with robust documentation and safety substantiation reporting.

Our Control amp; Functional Safety engineers undertake a range of projects across a number of sectors from manufacturing to civil nuclear sites and defence. The projects vary from small scoping and feasibility studies for modifications or upgrades to design of complex process plants including high integrity safety functions and advising on the development of safety critical systems. We are also starting to develop our service offering into the development of safety critical systems

  • System architecture design
  • Control philosophy, instrument selection and system detailed design specification.
  • Safety system reliability assessment
  • SMART Instrument Substantiation
  • Document review / verification
  • Compliance assessment of processes and design artefacts against international and industry standards
  • Planning and execution of qualification programmes, as well as hardware and software testing.

This is an exciting time to join a successful team and the right candidate can expect to be working across multiple projects, in different sectors, at the same time. Our engineers can lead projects from bid to completion and are encouraged to develop their business development skills whilst supporting our clients. The right candidate will need to demonstrate the competencies required to integrate with our collaborative engineers who take responsibility for their projects as well as engaging others where they require further support.
