Job Description
Methods Analytics is currently recruiting for a Senior Data Strategist to join our team on a permanent basis. This role will require flexibility to travel to client sites, and is expected to be based in either Sheffield, London or Bristol.
Please note due to current COVID restrictions this role will be remote working until restrictions have been lifted.

The Senior Data Strategist will be expected to work as part of the Methods Analytics Delivery team. They will be the technical lead of projects for external stakeholders or internal company assignments. You will work with our clients assisting there understanding of data, analytics, machine learning amp; artificial intelligence and the impact it can have.
You must also have the technology and analytics awareness to know the tools, processes and techniques that our data scientists use in completing project work. You think in terms of strategy and business impact and are able to gather and translate requirements into concrete data-driven initiatives and specific actions.
This role sits within our Strategy team and will be key to driving the data agenda across our business. You will work with business analysts, data scientists, technical architects, developers, and account delivery teams as well as with multiple client stakeholders. The role will be hands on and involved in our project work, but we expect that there is a huge opportunity to shape our data offerings.
Requirements
Although the Senior Data Strategist will have a portfolio of responsibilities specific to their area of expertise and grade, it is expected that they will develop a set of skills, competencies and knowledge to operate effectively within their role.
The Senior Data Strategist will have the following responsibilities:
- Be the expert on latest technology trends amp; products in the space of (big) data, analytics, ad-tech, machine learning and/or AI.
- Be a thought-partner for managers and executives by bridging market trends to their specific challenges, dynamics, limitations amp; ambitions.
- Guide customers through the technical details and give them a good understanding of the opportunities, threats and how the benefits can be achieved.
- Develop strategic roadmaps, project outlines and detailed action plans
- Work with external vendors and partner technologies
- Embrace working with the wider delivery team and project teams. This will include working with data scientists, data engineers and business stakeholders
- Contribute to new business pitches and proposals
Ideal candidates will demonstrate:
- Degree Business or Engineering degree with an appetite to work on strategic projects
- Experience in management consulting or corporate strategy
- Proven application of advanced analytical and statistical methods in the real world
- Demonstrable senior-level leadership in engaging with stakeholders, technical clients and people management
- The ability to assess a range of relevant techniques for a given use-case in terms of strengths and limitations, and thereafter to decide upon an appropriate evidence-based approach and the ability to communicate and justify that approach to relevant stakeholders
- Clear understanding of the implications of deploying models at scale both within cloud and local environments
- Ability to visualise data in a meaningful way to draw insight informing business problems
